THE GRPM EXISTS TO ENRICH THE LIFE OF OUR COMMUNITY THROUGH EXPERIENCES OF THE WIDER WORLD THROUGH A UNIQUELY GRAND RAPIDS LENS. OFFERING EXHIBITS, EVENTS AND EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMMING DESIGNED TO INSPIRE, MOTIVATE AND CELEBRATE OUR HUMAN BOND.
Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
1. THE GRAND RAPIDS PUBLIC MUSEUM SERVES AS A LIVING MONUMENT OF ARTIFACTS, IDEAS AND STORIES TOLD THROUGH EXHIBITS, A PLANETARIUM, EVENTS AND EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMMING FOCUSED ON HISTORY, SCIENCE AND CULTURE. IN THE LAST YEAR, IN ADDITION TO THE MUSEUM'S THREE FLOORS OF CORE EXHIBITIONS, THE GRPM OFFERED 5 MAJOR TRAVELING OR SPECIAL EXHIBITS, OVER A DOZEN PUBLIC EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS, NUMEROUS SCHOOL PROGRAMS, AND HOSTED VARIOUS RESEARCHERS AT THE MUSEUM AND ARCHIVES. ADDITIONAL OFFERINGS INCLUDED DIGITAL EDUCATIONAL RESOURCES AND VIRTUAL PROGRAMS TO MEET THE COMMUNITY'S NEEDS AS THE PANDEMIC CONTINUED. THE GRPM'S VISION IS TO INSTILL PASSIONATE CURIOSITY AND A DEEPER UNDERSTANDING OF THE WORLD AROUND US.
