Part 3
ELEX CHILDREN'S HAVEN AFFORDS YOUNG ADULTS THE OPPORTUNITY TO GROW AT THEIR OWN PACE AS WE FOSTER SUCCESSFUL INDEPENDENT LIVING. WE HAVE LEASED 4 TWO-BEDROOM TWO-BATHROOM APARTMENTS AT ECHELON ON 99 IN RICHMOND TX TO HOUSE THOSE AGING OUT OF THE FOSTER CARE SYSTEM AND HAVE ACKNOWLEDGED THEY ARE NOT PREPARED FOR INDEPENDENT LIVING. WE HAVE PARTNERED WITH CHILD PROTECTIVE SERVICES TO IDENTIFY THOSE STUDENTS IN FORT BEND COUNTY WHO COULD BENEFIT FROM A DYNAMIC PROGRAM LIKE OURS. THE LEASES ARE FOR 13 MONTHS AND THE APARTMENTS WILL COME FULLY FURNISHED TO EASE THE TRANSITION INTO INDEPENDENT LIVING. THE EXTENDED FOSTER CARE PROGRAM ALLOWS YOUNG ADULTS TO STAY IN THESE APARTMENTS UP UNTIL THE AGE OF 22 YEARS OLD. THE MONIES REQUESTED WILL STRICTLY BE USED FOR THE RENT OF THESE APARTMENTS. THE RENT WAS DISCOUNTED FOR ELEX CHILDREN'S HAVEN AT $1400.00 PER APARTMENT AND AS STATED ABOVE WE CURRENTLY HAVE 4 UNITS.
