MEMBER SERVICES - THE ORGANIZATION HAS FORMED A COALITION OF VETERANS ACROSS THE UNITED STATES TO ASSIST EACH OTHER IN FINDING MEANINGFUL CAREERS IN AGRICULTURE. THE COALITION HAS ESTABLISHED OUTREACH PROGRAMS TO ENCOURAGE LOCAL RELATIONSHIPS, HAS DEVELOPED A HOMEGROWN BY HEROES BRAND WITH LABELS AND PRODUCTS TO USE BY MEMBER VETERAN FARMERS ACROSS THE UNITED STATES AND HAS A FELLOWSHIP FUND TO PROVIDE FINANCIAL SUPPORT FOR BUSINESS START UP COSTS AND SCHOLARSHIPS AND INTERNSHIPS TO EDUCATE VETERANS ABOUT THE BUSINESS OF AGRICULTURE.
OUTREACH & EDUCATION - IN ADDITION TO THE MEMBERSHIP ACTIVITY THE FARMER VETERAN COALITION DOES OUTREACH AND EDUCATION TO FIND VETERANS WITH THE ABILITY TO BENEFIT FROM MEMBERSHIP AND TO IDENTIFY FARMERS AND OTHER COMMUNITY MEMBERS TO ACT AS RESOURCES AND MENTORS AND TO EDUCATE THE GENERAL PUBLIC ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITIES FOR VETERANS IN AGRICULTURE.
