THE BIOENERGY ASSOCIATION OF CALIFORNIA FOCUSES ON PROMOTING SUSTAINABLE BIOENERGY DEVELOPMENT, INCLUDING RENEWABLE ELECTRICITY AND FUELS MADE FROM ORGANIC WASTE. WE ALSO PROMOTE BIOENERGY THROUGH POLICY ADVOCACY, COMMUNICATIONS, PUBLIC EDUCATION AND OUTREACH.

DURING 2019, OUR SIGNIFICANT PROGRAM ACCOMPLISHMENTS WERE AS FOLLOWS:SECURED MORE THAN $50 MILLION IN CAP & TRADE FUNDING FOR BIOENERGY PROJECTS IN CALIFORNIA.HELPED TO PASS SB 44 (SKINNER, 2019) ON HEAVY DUTY VEHICLESSECURED CHANGE IN BIOMAT PROGRAM AT CPUC THAT MAKES IT EASIER FOR AGRICULTURAL WASTE TO ENERGY PROJECTS TO DEVELOPMAINTAINED SOME CEC AND ARB FUNDING FOR BIOFUELS AND NATURAL GAS TRUCKSDEFEATED LEGISLATION TO BAN COMBUSTION ENGINESPASSED LEGISLATION (SB 44) REQUIRING ARB TO ADOPT PLAN TO CUT HEAVY DUTY VEHICLE EMISSIONS IN NEAR TERMACTED AS PEER REVIEWER ON LAWRENCE LIVERMORE NATIONAL LAB REPORT ON BIOENERGY AND CARBON NEUTRALITYSUPPORTED DEVELOPMENT OF VOLUNTARY RNG TARIFF.SUCCESSFULLY ARGUED FOR MORE INCLUSIVE WASTE DIVERSION REGULATIONS PURSUANT TO SB 1383.
