SPECIAL NEEDS SHINE PROGRAM USES SOCCER AS A VEHICLE TO TEACH LIFE SKILLS TO INDIVIDUALS WITH DEVELOPMENTAL AND INTELLECTUAL DISABILITIES INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO, AUTISM SPECTRUM DISORDERS, DOWN SYNDROME, ADHD AND PDD-NOS. THE FOUNDATION WORKS WITH A DEVELOPMENTALLY-APPROPRIATE CURRICULUM DESIGNED BY LICENSED EDUCATORS AND THERAPISTS THAT PROMOTES THE COMPLETE GROWTH OF EACH INDIVIDUAL AND ENCOURAGES PLAYERS TO IMPROVE AT HIS OR HER OWN PACE. THE FOUNDATION USES SOCCER TO ENHANCE PEER INTERACTIONS AND PROVIDE A SAFE ENVIROMENT FOR PLAYERS TO INCREASE SOCIAL POTENTIAL.
INTERNATIONAL EFFORTS - BUILDING SOCCER BRIDGES PROGRAM, USE SOCCER AS A TOOL TO EMPOWER CHILDREN AND YOUTH, SUPPORT THEIR PHYSICAL AND PERSONAL GROWTH AND ENGAGE THEM IN THEIR EDUCATION. BY PARTNERING WITH LOCAL GOVERNMENTS AND / OR COMMUNITY BASED ORGANIZATIONS ROUND STAR FOUNDATION SUPPORTS LOCAL SOCCER PROGRAMS AROUND THE WORLD TO DEVELOP A PHILOSOPHY OF SOCCER AS A YOUTH DEVELOPMENT TOOL.
