SOCCER STARS FOUNDATION WAS BORN OUT OF THE BELIEF THAT EVERY PERSON, REGARDLESS OF THEIR COGNITIVE AND PHYSICAL ABILITIES AND SOCIO-ECONOMIC STATUS, SHOULD BE ABLE TO PLAY THE GREATEST SPORT IN THE WORLD. WE STRIVE TO INSPIRE TEAMWORK, DRIVE, PASSION--AND PURE JOY--IN TENS OF THOUSANDS OF PLAYERS ACROSS NEW YORK CITY, THE UNITED STATES, AND THE GLOBE. OUR PROGRAMS ARE SHAPED AROUND TWO CORE VALUES: INCLUSION AND ACCESS. SPECIAL NEEDS SHINE PROGRAM USES SOCCER AS A VEHICLE TO TEACH LIFE SKILLS TO INDIVIDUALS WITH DEVELOPMENTAL AND INTELLECTUAL DISABILITIES INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO, AUTISM SPECTRUM DISORDERS, DOWN SYNDROME, ADHD AND PDD-NOS. THE FOUNDATION WORK WITH A DEVELOPMENTALLY-APPROPRIATE CURRICULUM DESIGNED BY LICENSED EDUCATORS AND THERAPISTS THAT PROMOTES THE COMPLETE GROWTH OF EACH INDIVIDUAL AND ENCOURAGES PLAYERS TO IMPROVE AT HIS OR HER OWN PACE. THE FOUNDATION USE SOCCER TO ENHANCE PEER INTERACTIONS AND PROVIDE A SAFE ENVIROMENT FOR PLAYERS TO INCREASE SOCIAL POTENTIAL.
INTERNATIONAL EFFORTS - BUILDING SOCCER BRIDGES PROGRAM, USE SOCCER AS A TOOL TO EMPOWER CHILDREN AND YOUTH, SUPPORT THEIR PHYSICAL AND PERSONAL GROWTH AND ENGAGE THEM IN THEIR EDUCATION. BY PARTNERING WITH LOCAL GOVERNMENTS AND /OR COMMUNITY BASED ORGANIZATIONS ROUND STAR FOUNDATION SUPPORTS LOCAL SOCCER PROGRAMS AROUND THE WORLD TO DEVELOP A PHILOSOPHY OF SOCCER AS A YOUTH DEVELOPMENT TOOL.
