LOW-INCOME PERSONS EMPOWERMENT: (1) HELP 23 LOW-INCOME ADULTS TO PASS PROFESSIONAL EXAMS FOR IN-DEMAND CAREERS; (2) HELPED 14 AT-RISK YOUTHS OBTAIN GED AND (3) PROCESSED MORE THAN 2,125 PHONE/EMAIL INQUIRIES FROM LOW-INCOME PERSONS ON TAX RETURNS, GUIDANCE, AND TIPS ON THEIR ANNUAL TAX FILINGS AND RELATED ISSUES. VETERANS EMPOWERMENT: (1) ASSISTED 27 VETERANS WITH BUSINESS PLAN, ENTREPRENEURSHIP, FINANCE/CAPITAL SOURCE, AND START-UP GUIDE; (2) PROVIDED 221 HOURS OF BOOKKEEPING, ACCOUNTING, TAX, AND OTHER TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE TO VETERANS-ENTREPRENEURS; AND (3) FACILITATED $1.9 MILLION IN LOANS TO 12 LOW-INCOME VETERAN ENTREPRENEURS THROUGH BORROWERS COUNSELING ASSISTANCE.
