UNITED MILITARY CARE CONNECTS WITH AND SERVES VETERANS OF ALL AGES AND LIFESTYLES BY PROVIDING BASIC NEEDS TO DEAL WITH THE CHALLENGES OF HOMELESSNESS, HUNGER, ISOLATION, AGING, AND BEING FORGOTTEN.

FOOD-UNITED MILITARY CARE PACKS AND DISTRIBUTES FOOD BAGS THAT CONSIST OF PROTEIN, FRUIT, WATER, AND TWO SNACKS FOR VETERANS WHO ARE CURRENTLY HOMELESS OR LIVING IN A SHELTER OR VEHICLE. ADDITIONALLY, WE PROVIDE NO-COST BACKPACKS FILLED WITH FOOD AND HYGIENE ITEMS TO FIRST RESPONDERS TO DISTRIBUTE TO HOMELESS VETERANS AS THEY ENCOUNTER THEM. FOR VETERANS RESIDING IN A FACILITY WHERE THEY CAN COOK THEIR MEALS BUT ARE STRUGGLING FINANCIALLY OR HAVE MINOR CHILDREN IN THE HOME, WE PROVIDE GROCERIES FOR MEALS AND NUTRITIOUS SNACKS TO RELIEVE THE FINANCIAL BURDEN AND ENSURE BOTH VETERANS AND FAMILY ARE EATING THREE MEALS EACH DAY. FOR VETERANS AND THEIR FAMILIES CURRENTLY LIVING IN A MOTEL OR OTHERWISE CANNOT COOK MEALS BUT CAN USE A MICROWAVE, WE PROVIDE FOOD BAGS WITH EASY-TO-MAKE ENTREES AND SNACKS. FRESH FOOD IS PURCHASED, SUCH AS BREAD, MILK, EGGS, AND BUTTER, AND PROVIDED AS NEEDED TO SUPPLEMENT THE GROCERIES. VETERANS OUTSIDE OF A REASONABLE DRIVING DISTANCE OF OUR PHYSICAL OFFICE FOOD PANTRY WILL ALSO RECEIVE PURCHASED GIFT CARDS TO SHOP IN THEIR LOCATION.
HOMELESS SERVICES - UNITED MILITARY CARE WORKS WITH VETERANS WHO ARE HOMELESS OR ON THE VERGE OF HOMELESSNESS TO GET THEM INTO MORE PERMANENT HOUSING. HOMELESS VETERANS ARE PLACED IN AVAILABLE SHELTERS WITH A COORDINATED PLAN TO EXIT THE SHELTER BY PARTICIPATING IN WRAP-AROUND CASE MANAGEMENT. VETERANS IN JEOPARDY OF BECOMING HOMELESS DUE TO EVICTION, UNEMPLOYMENT, OR ILLNESS ARE COORDINATED WITH APPROPRIATE AGENCIES AND THOSE WITH SUBSTANCE ADDICTIONS AND MENTAL HEALTH CHALLENGES.
HOLIDAY - UNITED MILITARY CARE SUPPORTS OUR VETERANS AND THEIR CHILDREN (UNDER 14) DURING BOTH THANKSGIVING AND CHRISTMAS HOLIDAYS DUE TO AN INCREASE IN DEPRESSION AND ANXIETY DUE TO UNDER/UNEMPLOYMENT, DISABILITY, ILLNESS, FAMILY EMERGENCY, OR ISOLATION. WE PROVIDE FULL HOLIDAY MEALS FOR THE VETERANS AND THEIR FAMILIES, ALONG WITH PRESENTS FOR THE CHILDREN AND ISOLATED SENIOR VETERANS.
EXPENSES INCLUDE INDIVIDUAL MOTEL NIGHT STAYS, SCARFS, GLOVES, JACKETS, SWEATSUITS, JEANS, SHOES FOR HOMELESS VETERANS ALONG WITH ALL COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH PROGRAMS AND SERVICES.
