SINCE 1930 THE MOUNT RUSHMORE NATIONAL MEMORIAL SOCIETY THE SOCIETY HAS BEEN THE OFFICIAL FUNDRAISING PARTNER FOR MOUNT RUSHMORE NATIONAL MEMORIAL THE MEMORIAL WORKING TOWARD THE CREATION PROMOTION AND SUPPORTING EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS OF THE SCULPTURE ITS HISTORY AND NATURAL RESOURCES SCIENTIFIC EDUCATIONAL AND INTERPRETIVE STUDIES. IN COLLABORATION WITH THE NATIONAL PARK SERVICE THE SOCIETY SHARES A MISSION OF PROTECTING AND PRESERVING THE MEMORIAL WHILE PROVIDING INSPIRATIONAL EXPERIENCES FOR PEOPLE FROM AROUND THE WORLD BY PROVIDING PUBLICATIONS AUDIO TOURS TRAIL OPPORTUNITIES EDUCATIONAL FORUMS SPECIAL EVENTS AND NATIONAL CELEBRATIONS. THE SOCIETY PROVIDES FUNDING TO PRESERVE AND CONDUCT ANNUAL MAINTENANCE OF THE MEMORIAL. THE SOCIETY ALSO HOSTS AN ANNUAL PRESIDENTIAL DINNER AS A FUNDRAISING EVENT NORMALLY. DUE TO THE WORLDWIDE PANDEMIC THIS EVENT WAS NOT HELD IN 2021. AID TO THE PARK THROUGH THE MOUNT RUSHMORE BOOKSTORES PROVIDES FUNDING FOR THE FOLLOWING PROJECTS: MOUNT RUSHMORE INTERPRETIVE RANGER INTERN PROGRAM SCHOOL BUS PARKING AND TRANSPORTATION SCHOLARSHIPS LIMITED IN 2021 WHICH ALLOW CHILDREN FROM AREA SCHOOLS TO ATTEND EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES AT THE MEMORIAL CULTURAL DEMONSTRATIONS JUNIOR RANGER SUPPLIES DEVELOPMENT OF ORIGINAL PUBLICATIONS TO BE SOLD AT THE MEMORIAL AND PROVIDING INTERPRETIVE PROGRAM SUPPLIES AND LIBRARY ACQUISITIONS. THROUGH BOOKSTORE SALES A MEMBERSHIP PROGRAM AND AUDIO TOUR OUTLET FUNDS ARE RAISED FOR THE NPS INTERPRETIVE DIVISION TO PROVIDE EDUCATION AND INTERPRETIVE PROGRAMMING TO THE PUBLIC ABOUT MOUNT RUSHMORE.
