TO COLLECT, DISPLAY, AND INTERPRET ARTIFACTS RELEVANT TO THE HISTORY AND CULTURAL HERITAGE OF CASS COUNTY AND THE RED RIVER VALLEY.

THE SOCIETY MAINTAINS A HISTORICAL SITE "BONANZAVILLE USA" LOCATED IN WEST FARGO, NORTH DAKOTA. THE SITE INCLUDES A GROUP OF MUSEUM BUILDINGS, ALONG WITH 36 HISTORICAL STRUCTURES WHICH HAVE BEEN RELOCATED TO THE SITE. ACTIVITIES INCLUDE THE DISCOVERY, COLLECTION, AND PRESERVATION OF DATA, OBJECTS, OR MEMORABILIA OF HISTORICAL VALUE AND THE DISSEMINATION OF INFORMATION CONCERNING THE HISTORY OF CASS COUNTY NORTH DAKOTA, AND THE STATE OF NORTH DAKOTA. IN 2021, ALTHOUGH REBOUNDING FROM THE GLOBAL PANDEMIC, BONANZAVILLE SAW ONLY 15,500 VISITORS. SCHOOL TOURS GENERALLY BRINGING IN 4,000 SCHOOL CHILDREN AND TEACHERS FROM THE REGION AS PART OF THE LOCAL HISTORY CURRICULUM WERE ALL BUT NON-EXISTENT. BONANZAVILLE HELD SEVERAL EVENTS DURING THE YEAR IN THE 12-ACRE VILLAGE, INCLUDING PIONEER DAYS, 4TH OF JULY CELEBRATION, AND CHRISTMAS ON THE PRAIRIE.
