THE ORGANIZATION'S ACHIEVEMENTS IN 2023 ARE AS FOLLOWS:1- KIDS ZONE FOOD PANTRY:HUNDREDS OF FAMILIES IN CLAYTON COUNTY RELY ON THE FREE AND REDUCED SCHOOL LUNCH PROGRAMS TO PROVIDE THEIR KIDS WITH THE NUTRITIOUS MEALS THEY NEED TO GROW, LEARN AND THRIVE. ONCE THE SCHOOL YEAR ENDS, SO DOES THIS FOOD PROGRAM. THIS CREATES A HARDSHIP FOR MANY LOCAL FAMILIES WHO STRUGGLE TO FIND THE MEANS TO PUT MORE FOOD ON THE TABLE OVER THE SUMMER MONTHS. OUR KIDS ZONE FOOD PANTRY HELPS TO MEET THE NEEDS OF CHRONICALLY HUNGRY CHILDREN BY PROVIDING THEM WITH NUTRITIOUS AND EASY-TO-PREPARE FOOD TO TAKE HOME WHEN OTHER RESOURCES ARE NOT AVAILABLE. DURING THE YEAR 2023, WE PROVIDED FOOD TO MORE THAN 1,200 LOW-INCOME CHILDREN IN CLAYTON COUNTY.2- SENIOR CITIZEN COMMODITY SUPPLEMENTAL FOOD PROGRAM:WE OFFER A COMMODITY SUPPLEMENTAL FOOD PROGRAM TO ELDERLY PERSONS 65 YEARS AND OLDER. THIS PROGRAM WORKS TO IMPROVE THE HEALTH OF LOW-INCOME ELDERLY PEOPLE BY SUPPLEMENTING THEIR DIETS WITH NUTRITIOUS USDA FOODS AND PRODUCTS. IN 2023, WE HAD 350 LOW-INCOME SENIORS TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THIS PROGRAM. 3 SCHOOL SUPPLY GIVEAWAY:COMMUNITY OUTREACH IN ACTION, INC. PROVIDES SCHOOL SUPPLIES TO LOW-INCOME CHILDREN IN OUR COMMUNITY DURING THE SCHOOL ACADEMIC SCHOOL YEAR. IN 2023, 103 CHILDREN SERVED.
