THE FUTURE ANGLER FOUNDATION'S MISSION IS TO CREATE NEW ANGLERS BY WORKING WITH INDIVIDUALS AND ORGANIZATIONS THROUGHOUT THE UNITED STATES TO EXPOSE POTENTIAL NEW ANGLERS OF ALL AGES TO THE SPORT OF FISHING AND EDUCATE THEM ON HOW TO CATCH FISH AND PROTECT THE RESOURCE.

Part 3 - Line 4a

GETTING FAMILIES FISHING IS A COLLABORATIVE PROGRAM WITH SEVERAL GOVERNMENT AGENCIES, AND NGO'S THAT IS FUNDED THROUGH VARIOUS GRANTS AND EXECUTED BY "INTO THE OUTDOORS" EDUCATION NETWORK (DISCOVER MEDIA WORKS). THIS PROGRAM UTILIZES MADE FOR TELEVISION PROGRAMMING AND CORRESPONDING CURRICULUM TO TEACH ANGLING BASICS. THIS CONTENT IS AVAILABLE ON A "FREE SOURCE" SYSTEM TO ANY ORGANIZATION THAT WOULD LIKE TO USE IT IN THEIR PROGRAMS, INCLUDING SCHOOL SYSTEMS ACCROSS THE U.S. THE PROGRAMMING IS ALSO AVAILABLE AT NO CHARGE TO PBS AND OTHER NETWORKS. THE PROGRAMS DISTRIBUTION INCREASED DRAMATICALLY IN 2020 TO SEVERAL MILLION VIEWS. THE PROGRAM HAS GROWN EVEN MORE IN 2023 WITH CONTINUED PROMOTION OF THE PROGRAM AND THE ADDITION OF THE BOATING SAFETY SEGMENTS IN 2023 THAT WERE FUNDED BY THE U.S.COAST GUARD GRANT.


THE FUTURE ANGLER FOUNDATION SUPPORTS ANGLING EDUCATIONAL EVENTS CONDUCTED BY VOLUNTEERS WHO SHARE THEIR PASSION AND KNOWLEDGE OF ANGLING WITH POTENTIAL NEW ANGLERS. IN 2023 116 IN PERSON FUTURE ANGLER EVENTS WERE SUPPORTED BY THE FOUNDATION.


THE FUTURE ANGLER FOUNDATION IS WORKING WITH THE INDUSTRY AND GOVERNMENT ANGENCIES TO HELP SUPPORT AND CREATE NEW PROGRAMS THAT ARE ATTRACTING NEW ANGLERS. THE FAF THROUGH A GRANT IN 2023 HELPED THE FOREST SERVICE DISTRIBUTE ROD/REEL COMBINATIONS THAT THE FOUNDATION PURCHASED WITH GRANT FUNDS AND DISTRIBUTED TO FOREST SERVICE REGIONS AND TO NPAA FUTURE ANGLER EVENTS.
