THE MISSION OF EMHS IS TO PROVIDE ACCESSIBLE, CULTURALLY INFORMED, QUALITY MENTAL HEALTH CARE TO NORTH RIVER RESIDENTS THROUGH THE INTEGRATION OF CLINICAL PRACTICE, EDUCATION AND EVALUATION, AND THE APPLICATION OF PSYCHOLOGICAL INSIGHT TO ADDRESS COMMUNITY CONCERNS, AS INFORMED BY THE COMMUNITY AND IN COLLABORATION WITH LOCAL RESIDENTS AND PARTNERS.

IN FY2022-23, THE CENTER SERVED 603 CLIENTS AND COLLATERAL CLIENTS AND PROVIDED MENTAL HEALTH SUPPORT, EDUCATION AND CONSULTATION TO COMMUNITY MEMBERS. OVER THE FISCAL YEAR, THE CENTER PROVIDED 4666 CLINICAL ENCOUNTERS, AND 3028 COMMUNITY ENCOUNTERS FOR A TOTAL OF 7694 THERAPEUTIC ENCOUNTERS. IN ADDITION TO CLINICAL SERVICES, THE CENTER OFFERED ACUTE TRAUMA OUTREACH PROGRAM, A STORYTELLING THERAPEUTIC PROGRAM FOR DACA AND UNDOCUMENTED STUDENTS, A SURVIVOR'S CIRCLE FOR FAMILIES SURVIVING GUN VIOLENCE, AND COMMUNITY RACIAL HEALING CONVERSATIONS. IN AUGUST OF 2021, EMHS, NFP SIGNED A CONTRACT AGREEING TO BE THE CLINICAL SERVICE PROVIDER FOR A NEW CLINIC TO SERVE THE LOGAN SQUARE, AVONDALE AND HERMOSA NEIGHBORHOODS ON THE NORTHWEST SIDE OF CHICAGO. DURING FISCAL YEAR 2022-23 CENTER ACQUIRED SPACE. THE SECOND CENTER SERVING LOGAN SQUARE,AVONDALE, AND HERMOSA, LOSAH CENTER OF HOPE, OFFICIALLY OPENED ON APRIL 13, 2024.
