OPPORTUNITY MINISTRIES (OM) WAS THRILLED TO BEGIN THEIR NEW PROGRAM, TYLER'S CLOSET. THIS NEW MISSION ENABLES OM TO PROVIDE GENTLY USED CLOTHING AND HYGIENE PRODUCTS TO PARTICIPANTS IN OUR PROGRAM AND THOSE IN NEED WHO RESIDE IN OUR COMMUNITY. DURING THE TIME OF JUNE 1, 2022 THROUGH MAY 31, 2023, TYLER'S CLOSET SERVED 11 INDIVIDUALS (10 MALE AND 1 FEMALE). THE OM MARY'S LAMB (ML) PROGRAM PROVIDES SUPPORTIVE HOUSING TO MOTHERS WITH CHILDREN AND SERVED ELEVEN FAMILIES DURING THE TIME FRAM OF JUNE 1, 2022 THROUGH MAY 31, 2023. WE ARE VERY PROUD OF THE PARTICIPANT AT ML WHO TRANSITIONED TO THE POSITION OF HOUSE LEADER AFTER COMPLETING THE PROGRAM. THERE WERE SEVERAL FAMILIES WHO FULFILLED THE PROGRAM AND MOVED ON SUCCESSFULLY. OM RECEIVED FINAL APPROVAL FROM THE MD GENERAL ASSEMBLY ON A GRANT APPLICATION SUBMITTED FOR FY24 TO RENOVATE ONE OF ITS PROPERTIES. A FY25 GRANT REQUEST WAS SUBMITTED TO PURCHASE AND RENOVATE A PROPERTY THAT IS CURRENTLY OPERATING AN OM PROGRAM. THE OM SOR PROGRAM, WHICH OFFERS PARTICIPANTS SIX MONTHS OF FUNDING WHILE PROVIDING FINANCIAL TRAINING AND PEER RECOVERY, WAS OPERATING AT FULL CAPACITY. THERE WERE MANY PARTICIPANTS WHO TRANSITIONED SUCCESSFULLY. ALL RECOVERY RESIDENCES AT OM CONTINUE TO UPHOLD THE HIGHEST STANDARDS AND ARE CERTIFIED BY MCORR (MD CERTIFICATION OF RECOVERY RESIDENCES)WHICH ALLOWS THEM TO ACCEPT FUNDING ON BEHALF OF THE PARTICIPANTS. OM TENDS TO OPERATE AT FULL CAPACITY AND GENERALLY HAS A WAITLIST. WE ARE INTERESTED IN EXPANDING OUR SERVICES TO ACCOMMODATE THE NEEDS OF THE RECOVERY COMMUNITY.
