OUR BASIC MISSION IS TO ENGAGE YOUTH IN CHARITABLE ACTIVITES THAT MAY PROVIDE RELIEF OF THE POOR, THE DISTRESSED, OR THE UNDERPRIVILEGED; LESSEN NEIGHBORHOOD TENSIONS; REDUCE PREJUDICE AND DISCRIMINATION, OR COMBAT COMMUNITY DETERIORATION. CURRENTLY WE ARE BUILDING HOMES IN NEW ORLEANS.

IN FY 2022-23, WE SENT 241 VOLUNTEERS ON 5 TRIPS TO NEW ORLEANS. THEY COMPLETED REPAIR WORK ON 15+ HOMES/PROJECTS IN THE GREATER NEW ORLEANS AREA, CONTRIBUTING 6,025 MAN-HOURS TO ASSIST HURRICANE KATRINA SURVIVORS IN RETURNING TO HABITABLE DWELLINGS AND PROVIDING SOCIAL ASSISTANCE SERVICES TO FAMILIES AND INDIVIDUALS. THEY ALSO SPENT TIME IN MONTGOMERY, TUSKEGEE AND SELMA, ALABAMA LEARNING FROM COMMUNITY LEADERS ABOUT THE 1960 CIVIL RIGHTS MOVEMENT AND THE IMPORTANCE OF BUILDING NCLUSIVE COMMUNITIES.
