THE MISSON OF COCAL GRACIAS IS TO BUILD COMMUNITY, ENCOURAGE LEARNING, AND FORM DISCIPLES BY HELPING PEOPLE ACHEIVE THEIR POTENTIAL IN THE NAME OF JESUS. THIS MISSION IS REFLECTED IN THE THREE AREAS ABOVE. MLV TRAINS PROFESSIONALS, TIMOTHY CENTER WILL SAVE YOUTH FROM FOLLOWING DRUGS AND ALCOHOL, AND OUR HUMANITARIAN EFFORTS BUILD COMMUNITY.

MLV IS A TRADE CENTER FOR YOUTH AND ADULTS. THE MISSION IS TO PROVIDE AFFORDABLE TRADE EDUCATION AND TRAIN PROFESSIONALS WHO LOVE JESUS. MLV GIVES ENGLISH, COMPUTER, WELDING, MECHANIC, SEWING, AND MUSIC CLASSES. THE PROGRAMS ARE 5 SEMESTERS SPANNING 2.5 YEARS. GRADUATES ARE ABLE TO FIND JOBS IN TOURISM, CONSTRUCTION, AND WORKSHOPS. OTHER GRADUATES WORK FOR THEMSELVES. MLV HAS BEEN A HUGE SUCCESS.
THE TIMOTHY CENTER IS A NEW PARTNERSHIP WITH THE NAZARENE CHURCH. IT IS CURRENTLY UNDER CONSTRUCTION, BUT WILL BE ANOTHER MINISTRY CENTERED AROUND DISCIPLESHIP AND EDUCATION. THE TARGET FOR TIMOTHY CENTER IS CHILDREN AND YOUTH. CHILDREN AND YOUTH WILL BE ABLE TO PLAY GAMES, PARTICIPATE IN INFORMAL WORKSHOPS AND DISCIPLESHIP CLASSES, AS WELL AS COMMUNAL ACTIVITIES. COCAL GRACIAS IS FUNDING THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE CENTER AND IMPLEMENTING THE CURRICULUM. THE LOCAL NAZARENE CHURCH WILL OPERATE THE PROGRAM AND COCAL WILL SUPPORT IT.
COCAL GRACIAS IS ALSO INVOLVED WITH HUMANITARIAN/CHARITY EFFORTS. WE OFTEN TAKE ON COMMUNAL PROJECTS OR DO THINGS TO BENEFIT THE POOR. IN 2020, OUR EFFORTS WERE FOCUSED ON PROVIDING FOOD FOR FAMILIES AFFECTED BY THE LOCKDOWN. WE ALSO PROVIDED FOOD AND SHELTER FOR FAMILIES AFFECTED BY THE HURRICANES. WE PROVIDED A DONATION TO A VILLAGE FOR THEM TO FINISH INSTALLING ELECTRICAL SERVICE, AND WE REMODELED A HOUSE THAT WAS DESTROYED IN THE FLOODS.
