A PLACE FOR YOU TRANSITIONAL SHELTER SERVES AS A SAFE PLACE FOR PEOPLE IN DISTRESS. WE PROVIDE FOR BASIC NEEDS AND OFFER GUIDANCE AND RESOURCES THAT GIVE LIFE CHANGING ALTERNATIVES TO RESIDENTS WHILE RESPECTING THE POTENTIAL AND DIGNITY INHERENT IN EACH INDIVIDUAL.

A PLACE FOR YOU TOTAL RESIDENTS IN 2023 WERE 131 AND 372 TELEPHONE CALLS TAKEN. THE DIRECTOR/CASEWORK WORKS WITH EACH RESIDENT TO FIND EDUCATION, EMPLOYMENT, MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES, HOUSING ETC AND PROVIDES ONGOING SUPPORT ONCE THEY LEAVE THE CENTER. VOLUNTEERS HELP WITH FUNDRAISING, ANSWERING PHONES, REFURBISHING ROOMS WHEN A RESIDENT LEAVES, MAKING MEALS, TRANSPORTING CLIENTS TO JOBS OR MEDICAL APPOINTMENTS. IN 2023 THERE WERE 22 ACTIVE VOLUNTEERS WHO DONATED OVER 550 HOURS.
