PART III, LINE 1 THE FRIENDS OF THE BETHLEHEM MOUNTED POLICE SEEK TO PROMOTE PUBLIC SAFETY AND SECURITY, IMPROVE CIVIC PRIDE AND RAISE AWARENESS OF THE BETHLEHEM MOUNTED POLICE. IT HAS BEEN ORGANIZED TO PROMOTE PROGRAMS TO PROVIDE A SAFE ENVIRONMENT AND NEIGHBORHOOD FOR THE RESIDENTS, WORKERS, AND VISITORS OF BETHLEHEM. IT IS INTENDED TO ENLARGE AND STRENGTHEN THE SERVICES OF THE CITY OF BETHLEHEM POLICE DEPARTMENT MOUNTED PATROL UNIT AND TO WORK WITH THE SAME: PROMOTE CIVIC SPIRIT IN SUPPORT OF PUBLIC SAFETY AND SECURITY; ENHANCE PUBLIC AWARENESS OF THE UNIT; RAISE FUNDS TO PROVIDE EQUIPMENT TO MAKE UNIT WORK SAFER AND MORE EFFECTIVE; PROMOTE A PUBLIC-POLICE PARTNERSHIP AND INCREASE PUBLIC COOPERATION; EDUCATE THE PUBLIC ABOUT SAFETY ISSUES AND IMPROVE PUBLIC SAFETY AND SECURITY; SUPPLEMENT GOVERNMENT RESOURCES TO THE BETTERMENT OF THE CITY OF BETHLEHEM.
