THE PURPOSE OF THE CORPORATION IS TO EDUCATE AND EMPOWER MEMBERS OF THE COMMUNITY IN EAST HARLEM AND ENCOURAGE THEM TO DEVELOP LEADERSHIP SKILLS AND STRATEGIES TO FIGHT FOR JUSTICE IN THEIR COMMUNITY, INCLUDING WITH RESPECT TO THE RIGHTS OF TENANTS AND IMMIGRANTS. IN FURTHERANCE OF THIS CHARITABLE PURPOSE, THE CORPORATION SHALL: A. ORGANIZE AND MOBILIZE COMMUNITY MEMBERS IN EAST HARLEM TO FIGHT FOR THEIR RIGHTS, PARTICULARLY AS TENANTS AND AS IMMIGRANTS; B. PROVIDE SUPPORT AND EMERGENCY RESOURCES TO COMMUNITY MEMBERS IMPACTED BY THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC; C. THE ORGANIZATION ALSO EDUCATES IMMIGRANT COMMUNITY MEMBERS REGARDING THEIR RIGHTS VIA COMMUNITY OUTREACH.
