ALL PROGRAMS FILL A NEED FOR SERVICES TO THOSE WITH INCOME AT OR BELOW THE POVERTY LEVEL OR LIVING IN RURAL AREAS. THE PROGRAMS IMPROVE NUTRITION & HEALTH & HELP THE ELDERLY STAY IN THEIR OWN HOMES LONGER.

HOME DELIVERED AND CONGREGATE MEALS FOR SENIOR ADULTS IN BURLEIGH COUNTY. PROVIDED 9,581 CONGREGATE MEALS TO 608 INDIVIDUALS. PROVIDED 116,230 HOME DELIVERED MEALS TO 1,623 INDIVIDUALS. THIS IS THE ORGANIZATION'S LARGEST PROGRAM. IN 2021, 90% OF THE TOTAL CONGREGATE MEALS SERVED WERE TO INDIVIDUALS AT OR BELOW THE POVERTY LEVEL, 46% LIVED ALONE, AND 18% LIVED IN RURAL AREAS. OF THE HOME-DELIVERED MEAL RECIPIENTS, 90% WERE AT OR BELOW THE POVERTY LEVEL, 56% LIVED ALONE, AND 7% LIVED IN RURAL AREAS.DUE TO COVID19 THE ORGANIZATION CLOSED CONGREGATE MEALS UNTIL MAY 2021 AND USED DRIVE-THRU MEALS.
PASS THROUGH PAYMENTS TO SEVEN OTHER SENIOR SERVICES PROGRAMS. THE PROGRAM IS THE ADMINISTRATIVE AGENT FOR REGION VII IN MEALS AND HEALTH MAINTENANCE SERVICES.
HEALTH SERVICES FOR SENIOR ADULTS IN BURLEIGH COUNTY - 15,726 UNITS OF SERVICE WERE PROVIDED TO 534 SENIOR ADULTS. THE HEALTH PROGRAM IS A COMBINATION OF SERVICES PROVIDED TO ADDRESS THE UNIQUE CARE AND CONCERNS OF THE ELDERLY. IN 2021, 96% OF SENIORS SERVED WERE AT OR BELOW THE POVERTY LEVEL, 50% LIVED ALONE, AND 9.5% LIVED IN RURAL AREAS. THE HEALTH PROGRAM UTILIZES A REGISTERED NURSE AND AN LPN TO PROVIDE FOOT CARE, BLOOD PRESSURE, AND FASTING BLOOD SUGAR SCREENINGS. SERVICES ARE PROVIDED AT THE BURLEIGH CO SENIOR CENTER, CRESCENT MANOR, WING SENIOR CENTER, STERLING UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, AND IN THE HOME.
