THE FOUNDATION'S MISSION IS TO PROVIDE PHILANTHROPY, VOLUNTARISM, SERVICE AND GRANTMAKING IN SUPPORT OF OTHER 501(C)(3) PUBLIC CHARITIES WHICH SEEK TO IMPROVE THE LIVES OF WOMEN AND GIRLS IN GREATER KANSAS CITY.

SERVICE OBJECTIVE AWARDS - THE ORGANIZATION AWARDS GRANTS TO 501(C)(3) ORGANIZATIONS IN SUPPORT OF THE ORGANIZATION'S MISSION WHICH SEEKS TO IMPROVE THE LIVES OF WOMEN AND GIRLS IN GREATER KANSAS CITY. DURING 2021-22 FISCAL YEAR, SOROPTIMIST AWARDED A TOTAL OF $84,120 IN SERVICE OBJECTIVE AWARDS.


THE SOROPTIMIST FOUNDATION FUNDS A GRANT TO THE SOROPTIMIST INTERNATIONAL OF KANSAS CITY CLUB TO ASSIST THE CLUB IN THE FUNDRAISING SERVICES IT PROVIDES FOR THE FOUNDATION. THE AWARD TOTALED $5,236.56.


RECOGNITION PROGRAMS - EACH YEAR SOROPTIMIST PRESENTS 3 "LIVE YOUR DREAM AWARDS." THE LIVE YOUR DREAM AWARDS ASSIST WOMEN WHO PROVIDE THE PRIMARY SOURCE OF FINANCIAL SUPPORT FOR THEIR FAMILIES BY GIVING THEM THE RESOURCES THEY NEED TO IMPROVE THEIR EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND EMPLOYMENT PROSPECTS. FIVE VOLUNTEERS JUDGE AND SELECT MULTIPLE APPLICANTS BY REVIEWING THE APPLICATIONS OF EACH APPLICANT THEN CONDUCTING A FORMAL JUDGING PROCESS IN WHICH EACH WOMAN IS INTERVIEWED INDIVIDUALLY.


THE SOROPTIMIST FOUNDATION PROVIDED FUNDS TO SI HARARE FOR THEIR SODA PROJECT WHICH HELPED THEM INSTALL SOLAR PANELS BECAUSE OF THE ELECTRICITY CHALLENGES FACED IN ZIMBABWE. THE SOLAR PANELS WOULD ENABLE THE HOME TO PUMP WATER USING A SOLAR PUMP.
