SERVICE OBJECTIVE AWARDS - THE ORGANIZATION AWARDS GRANTS TO 501(C)(3) ORGANIZATIONS IN SUPPORT OF THE ORGANIZATION'S MISSION WHICH SEEKS TO IMPROVE THE LIVES OF WOMEN AND GIRLS IN GREATER KANSAS CITY. DURING 2020-2021 FISCAL YEAR, SOROPTIMIST AWARDED A TOTAL OF $62,295 IN SERVICE OBJECTIVE AWARDS.
RECOGNITION PROGRAMS - EACH YEAR SOROPTIMIST PRESENTS 3 "LIVE YOUR DREAM AWARDS." THE LIVE YOUR DREAM AWARDS ASSIST WOMEN WHO PROVIDE THE PRIMARY SOURCE OF FINANCIAL SUPPORT FOR THEIR FAMILIES BY GIVING THEM THE RESOURCES THEY NEED TO IMPROVE THEIR EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND EMPLOYMENT PROSPECTS. FIVE VOLUNTEERS JUDGE AND SELECT MULTIPLE APPLICANTS BY REVIEWING THE APPLICATIONS OF EACH APPLICANT THEN CONDUCTING A FORMAL JUDGING PROCESS IN WHICH EACH WOMAN IS INTERVIEWED INDIVIDUALLY.
THE SOROPTIMIST FOUNDATION FUNDS A GRANT TO THE SOROPTIMIST INTERNATIONAL OF KANSAS CITY CLUB TO ASSIST THE CLUB IN THE FUNDRAISING SERVICES IT PROVIDES FOR THE FOUNDATION. THE AWARD TOTALED $4,268.47.
