MVC OFFERS MANY OPPORTUNITIES TO GROW IN MIND, BODY, AND SPIRIT AND GUIDES STUDENTS TO SUCCEED THROUGH PERSONAL INSTRUCTION AND INTELLECTUAL INQUIRY. GROUNDED IN THE LIBERAL ARTS, UNDERGRADUATE STUDIES EMPOWER STUDENTS TO MASTER INTERDISCIPLINARY SKILLS NEEDED TO SUCCEED IN A KNOWLEDGE-BASED GLOBAL SOCIETY. MISSOURI VALLEY COLLEGE (MVC) TAKES GREAT PRIDE IN OFFERING A FOUR-YEAR, HIGHLY PERSONALIZED EDUCATION, OFFERING OVER 35 MAJORS AND 5 PRE-PROFESSIONAL PROGRAMS. MVC ALSO OFFERS 3 GRADUATE AND 5 ONLINE PROGRAMS. THE COLLEGE HAS EXPANDED TECHNOLOGY FOR TEACHING AND LEARNING. ADDITIONALLY, MVC RECENTLY ADDED A COMPUTER SCIENCE MAJOR, RECEIVED APPROVAL TO LAUNCH A MASTER OF SCIENCE IN NURSING PROGRAM (FNP FOCUS), AND GRADUATED THE FIRST CLASS FROM THE MA-EDUCATIONAL ADMINISTRATION PROGRAM. AN MVC SCHOLARS BANQUET IS HELD ANNUALLY TO HONOR TOP STUDENTS FROM EACH MAJOR. RECENTLY MVC HAS IDENTIFIED ENROLLMENT GROWTH OPPORTUNITIES WITHIN OUR SCHOOL OF NURSING, AND ADDITIONAL RECRUITMENT RESOURCES HAVE BEEN ADDED TO ACHIEVE THAT. THE 2020-2021 STUDENT ENROLLMENT INCLUDED FULL-TIME FALL 1,304, PART-TIME FALL 448, FULL-TIME SPRING 1,180 AND PART-TIME SPRING 270, FUL- TIME SUMMER 20 AND PART-TIME SUMMER 243).
STUDENT SERVICE ACTIVITIES - THE STUDENT INVOLVEMENT IS VITAL TO THE OVERALL COLLEGE EXPERIENCE. THE MVC HAS OVER 30 CLUBS AND STUDENT ORGANIZATIONS WHERE STUDENTS HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO ENRICH THEIR LEADERSHIP SKILLS, SOCIAL LIFE AND PERSONAL GROWTH. MVC OFFERS A NUMBER OF SERVICES TO HELP STUDENTS' NEEDS THROUGH THE STUDENT HEALTH CENTER, COUNSELING CENTER AND FITNESS CENTER. IN ADDITION, THE STUDENT SUCCESS CENTER PROVIDES RESOURCES TO SUPPORT THE STUDENTS' ACADEMIC SUCCESS, PERSONAL GROWTH, AND CAREER DEVELOPMENT. A NEW STUDENT ORIENTATION PROGRAM IS OFFERED TO ALL INCOMING STUDENTS. THIS ORIENTATION IS AN EIGHT-WEEK PROGRAM CENTERED ON CIVILITY, DEVELOPMENT OF CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS, TEAM BUILDING, COMMUNICATION SKILLS, ACCEPTANCE, AND THE IMPORTANCE OF CONTINUED EDUCATION IN A GLOBAL MINDSET. THIS PROGRAM IS EXPECTED TO GROW TO 12 WEEKS IN THE FALL 2022 SEMESTER.
ATHLETIC ACTIVITIES - MVC OFFERS 19 SPORTS AND 29 VARSITY TEAMS. DURING 2020-2021 SCHOOL YEAR, THE MVC MEN'S SOCCER TEAM WON THE NAIA NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP. CHEER WON A HEART OF AMERICA ATHLETIC CONFERENCE TITLE AND PLACED FOURTH AT THE NAIA NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP. THE MEN'S RODEO TEAM WON AN OZARK REGION CHAMPIONSHIP. ALSO COMPETING AT THEIR NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP EVENTS WERE THE WOMEN'S SOCCER, MEN'S WRESTLING, WOMEN'S WRESTLING, SHOOTING SPORTS, LIFTING, TRACK AND FIELD, AND WOMEN'S RODEO.
