CHAPTER 17 DISABLED AMERICAN VETERANS IS DEDICATED TO ONE, SINGLE PURPOSE - BUILDING BETTER LIVES FOR ALL DISABLED VETERANS AND THEIR FAMILIES, ESPECIALLY THE CENTRAL MISSOURI AREA. THIS MISSION IS CARRIED FORWARD BY PROVIDING ASSISTANCE TO VETERANS AND THEIR FAMILIES IN OBTAINING BENEFITS AND SERVICES EARNED THROUGH MILITARY SERVICE AS PROVIDED BY DEPARTMENT OF VETERANS AFFAIRS (VA), REPRESENTING THE INTERESTS OF DISABLED VETERANS AND THEIR FAMILIES IN GOVERNMENTAL MATTERS TO INCLUDE SUPPORTING PROGRAMS OF THE NATIONAL CHAPTER, AND PROVIDING SERVICE PROGRAMS TO PROMOTE THE SOCIAL WELFARE OF CHAPTER MEMBERS AS WELL AS THE COMMUNITY IN WHICH THEY LIVE.
