INDEPENDENT LIVING PROGRAM SADI IS COMMITTED TO PROVIDING SERVICES TO PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES TO ENABLE THEM TO REMAIN IN THEIR OWN HOME AND COMMUNITY, AND NOT IN AN INSTITUTION. SERVICES ARE PROVIDED IN THE COUNTIES OF CAPE GIRARDEAU, PERRY, BOLLINGER, SCOTT, AND MISSISSIPPI. THE PHILOSOPHY BEHIND INDEPENDENT LIVING IS THAT ALL PERSONS, REGARDLESS OF DISABILITY, ARE ENTITLED TO AND SHOULD HAVE EQUAL ACCESS TO THE RIGHTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES THAT OTHER CITIZENS ARE PROVIDED, TO BE ACTIVE AND PRODUCTIVE MEMBERS OF SOCIETY AS THEY SO CHOOSE. SADI'S PROGRAMS FOCUS ON MAKING CHOICES IN ONE'S LIFE WHICH BRING ABOUT CHANGE ENABLING MORE CONTROL TO MAINTAIN INDEPENDENCE. THERE ARE FOUR CORE SERVICES: INFORMATION AND REFERRAL, PEER SUPPORT, ADVOCACY AND SKILLS TRAINING.
PERSONAL CARE SERVICES PERSONAL CARE SERVICES ARE BASED ON INDIVIDUAL NEEDS. ON THE CONSUMER DIRECTED SERVICES PROGRAM, CONSUMERS HIRE ATTENDANTS TO PROVIDE PERSONAL CARE AND TRANSPORTATION. ON THE IN HOME SERVICE PROGRAM SADI PROVIDES AIDES, CNA'S AND NURSES TO CLIENTS IN THEIR HOMES TO ASSIST WITH HOMEMAKER SERVICES, PERSONAL CARE, ADVANCED PERSONAL CARE, NURSE VISITS AND RESPITE.
SPECIAL NEEDS SADI OFFERS SEVICES TO CHILDREN AND ADULTS WITH SPECIAL NEEDS. INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES CAN CHOOSE THE SERVICE OR SERVICES THAT BEST MEETS THEIR SPECIFIC NEEDS. TO QUALIFY FOR SADI'S SPECIAL NEEDS SERVICES, AN INDIVIDUAL MUST BE APPROVED FOR THE SERVICE THROUGH SIKESTON REGIONAL CENTER. THE INDIVIDUAL MUST BE DIAGNOSED WITH A DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITY BEFORE THE AGE OF 22.
