OPERATE A BOTANICAL GARDEN IN JOHNSON COUNTY, MISSOURI. PROVIDE BOTANICAL AND HORTICULTURAL DISPLAYS AND PROMOTE SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH, EDUCATION AND NUTRITION. INSPIRE AN APPRECIATION FOR THE IMPORTANCE OF PLANTS IN OUR LIVES.

HORTICULTURE: OVERSEES AND MANAGES APPROXIMATELY 100 ACRES OF INTERPRETIVE DISPLAYS, DEMONSTRATION GARDENS AND NATIVE PLANT LANDSCAPES FOR VIEWING AND PHOTOGRAPHING.
VISITORS' CENTER SERVICES: PROVIDES VISITOR EXPERIENCE AND RELATED SUPPORT SUCH AS EXHIBITIONS, FESTIVALS, RESTROOMS AND A GIFT SHOP. THE VISITORS' CENTER IS ALSO HOME TO EDUCATIONAL CLASSROOMS AND A LARGE MULTI-PURPOSE ROOM, WHICH IS UTILIZED FOR EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS AND RENTAL PURPOSES. THE CONSERVATORY AND TERRACE GARDENS MAKE UP THE HORTICULTURAL COMPONENT OF THIS BUILDING COMPLEX. THERE IS ALSO A BARN AND SILO WITH AN OBSERVATION DECK TO OBSERVE THE GARDEN AND LANDSCAPE DESIGN.
EDUCATION: OFFERS PROGRAMS AND SEMINARS TO THE COMMUNITY ON HORTICULTURE, GARDENING AND OTHER ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES. PROGRAMS ARE AVAILABLE FOR CHILDREN AND ADULTS AT ALL LEVELS, FROM BEGINNER TO EXPERT.
