ALPHA SIGMA TAU SORORITY IS COMMITTED TO DEVELOPING SCHOLARS, PHILANTHROPISTS, LEADERS AND SISTERS AMONG OUR COLLEGIATE AND ALUMNAE MEMBERS. THE SORORITY STRIVES TO HAVE A COOPERATIVE RELATIONSHIP WITH OUR HOST COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES AS WE EDUCATE OUR MEMBERS ON WHO WE ARE AS ALPHA SIGMA TAUS THROUGH A BROAD SPECTRUM OF SERVICE AND TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES. WE PROVIDE INFORMATION AND TRAINING ON BUSINESS, LIFE SKILLS, AND LEADERSHIP SKILLS.

EDUCATIONAL CONSULTANT PROGRAM:THIS PROGRAM ALLOWS FOR MANY OF THE 76 CHAPTERS TO RECEIVE AN EDUCATIONAL VISIT FROM THE NATIONAL ORGANIZATION. EDUCATIONAL CONSULTANTS TALK WITH EACH OFFICER CONCERNING THEIR POSITION AND WITH EACH MEMBER, IF TIME PERMITS. THEY DELIVER PRESENTATIONS CONCERNING MEMBERSHIP RECRUITMENT AND DEVELOPMENT, GOVERNING DOCUMENTS AND FINANCIAL RESOURCES, ETC. THIS IMPACTS 79 CHAPTERS WHICH CONSIST OF 3,265 UNDERGRADUATE MEMBERS AND 200 ALUMNAE SERVING THE CHAPTERS AS ADVISORS. THIS PROGRAM INCLUDES THE SALARY, BENEFITS, AND TRAVEL FOR EDUCATIONAL CONSULTANTS.
GATHERINGS-OFFICER ACADEMY/NATIONAL CONVENTION:EACH YEAR, ALPHA SIGMA TAU SPONSORS GATHERINGS OF LEADERS FOR EDUCATIONAL PURPOSES THROUGH OFFICER ACADEMY OR NATIONAL CONVENTIONS. INFORMATION THAT IS PRESENTED IN THESE PROGRAMS IMPACTS THE ENTIRE MEMBERSHIP. OFFICER ACADEMY IS HELD EVERY TWO YEARS AND FOCUSES ON LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT FOR CHAPTER OFFICERS. THE CHAPTER PRESIDENT AND ONE TO TWO ADDITIONAL OFFICERS ATTEND. THE ACTUAL EVENT INVOLVES APPROXIMATELY 250 UNDERGRADUATES. NATIONAL CONVENTION IS HELD EVERY TWO YEARS, ALTERNATING WITH OFFICER ACADEMY. EACH CHAPTER SENDS AT LEAST TWO REPRESENTATIVES AND ONE ADVISOR. EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMMING AND NATIONAL BUSINESS MEETINGS ARE A MAJOR FOCUS AS WELL AS AWARDS PRESENTATIONS.
