THE ORGANIZATION RECRUITS AND EVALUATES VOLUNTEERS FOR NONPROFIT, CULTURAL, EDUCATIONAL AND RECREATIONAL AGENCIES. OVER 8,000 INDIVIDUALS WITH OPPORTUNITIES TO SERVE FROM THE 223 COMMUNITY PARTNERS OF THE VCCV LAST YEAR. THIS INCLUDES YOUTH PROGRAMS, ADULTS, GROUPS, EMPLOYERS/EMPLOYEES, RSVP PARTICIPANTS, ETC.
THE ORGANIZATION EDUCATES THE PUBLIC ON THE BENEFITS OF VOLUNTEERISM. LAST YEAR 31 LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES WERE PROVIDED WITH 438 ATTENDEES THROUGHOUT BLACK HAWK COUNTY OPERATIONAL SERVICE AREA.
RSVP OF BLACK HAWK, BUCHANAN, AND FAYETTE COUNTIES CONNECTS THOSE AGE 55+ WITH OPPORTUNITIES TO SERVE IN THE SERVICE AREA. THIS INCLUDES 325 VOLUNTEERS PARTNERING IN AREAS LIKE THE AARP TAX-AIDE PROGRAM, READING BUDDIES IN THE WATERLOO, INDEPENDENCE, AND OELWEIN COMMUNITY SCHOOLS DISTRICTS, AND PROVIDING VOLUNTEERS TO 75 OTHER COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS.
