THE BRAIN INJURY ALLIANCE (BIAIA) WORKS TO INCREASE AVAILABILITY AND ACCESSIBILITY OF SERVICES AND SUPPORTS FOR PEOPLE WITH BRAIN INJURY AND THEIR FAMILIES. THE ORGANIZATION HAS MAINTAINED A STATEWIDE PROGRAM OF ADVOCACY, EDUCATION AND PREVENTION AND CONTINUED TO DO SO POST PANDEMIC AND AFTER SUCCESSFULLY MOVING MOST OF ITS PROGRAM STAFF TO REMOTE POSITIONS. BIAIA HAD HAD MORE THAN 14643 CONTACTS WITH IOWANS AFFECTED BY BRAIN INJURY AS WELL AS PROFESSIONALS REQUESTING INFORMATION AND PROVIDING RESOURCES AND SUPPORT. NEURO RESOURCE FACILITATION STAFF MEMBERS SUPPORTED 1410 NEW CALLERS. THE ORGANIZATION DISTRIBUTED MORE THAN MONTHLY NEWSLETTERS VIA EMAIL, 1804 RESOURCES STATEWIDE BY MAIL TO BRAIN INJURY SURVIVORS, FAMILIES, NATURAL/ CHOSEN CAREGIVER AND PROFESSIONALS AND MAINTAINED A PROFESSIONAL NETWORK OF 425 PROVIDERS AND ORGANIZATIONS TO RECEIVE INFORMATION FOR IOWANS EXPERIENCED BRAIN INJURY. NETWORK PROVIDERS HAD ACCESS TO ENGAGEMENT MEETINGS OR IN-SERVICES. THE 425 ORGANIZATIONS ENGAGED REACHED ALL 99 OF IOWA'S COUNTIES IN THEIR SERVICE AREAS.
IN FISCAL YEAR 2023 THE ORGANIZATION PROVIDED MORE THAN 13 COMMUNITY-BASED TRAININGS THAT INCLUDED FAMILY CAREGIVER WORKSHOPS, SURVIVOR/FAMILY CAREGIVER WEBINARS AND PROFESSIONAL WEBINARS TO MORE THAN 205 UNIQUE ATTENDEES DURING LIVE EVENTS WITH THOUSANDS OF VIEWS ON RECORDED TRAININGS ON YOUTUBE. 34 PROFESSIONALS COMPLETED BRAIN INJURY FUNDAMENTALS TRAINING, AND 10 INDIVIDUALS COMPLETED THE CERTIFIED BRAIN INJURY SPECIALIST PREP COURSE. TRAINING AND EDUCATION OPPORTUNITIES THROUGH BIAIA INCLUDE BOTH IN-PERSON AND VIRTUAL TRAINING, ACCESS TO VIRTUAL TRAINING IS ALSO PROVIDED ON BIAIA'S YOUTUBE CHANNEL AND BIAIA HOSTED IT'S 32ND ANNUAL BEST PRACTICES IN BRAIN INJURY CONFERENCE.
