THE AASM FOUNDATION STRIVES TO PROMOTE DISCOVERIES THAT ADVANCE THE UNDERSTANDING OF SLEEP FOR HEALTHIER LIVES BY OFFERING RESEARCH, COMMUNITY PROGRAM SUPPORT, AND TRAINING GRANTS.IN 2022, THE AASM FOUNDATION APPROVED FUNDING FOR CAREER DEVELOPMENT GRANTS, INCLUDING BRIDGE TO SUCCESS FOR EARLY CAREER INVESTIGATORS GRANTS (SUPPORTS RESEARCHERS WHO HAVE APPLIED FOR A FEDERAL CAREER DEVELOPMENT AWARD THAT WILL NOT BE FUNDED AND WHO PLAN TO SUBMIT A REVISED APPLICATION), BRIDGE TO SUCCESS FOR MID-CAREER/SENIOR INVESTIGATORS GRANTS (SUPPORTS RESEARCHERS WHO HAVE APPLIED FOR A FEDERAL INDEPENDENT INVESTIGATOR AWARD THAT WILL NOT BE FUNDED AND WHO PLAN TO SUBMIT A REVISED APPLICATION), FOCUSED PROJECTS GRANTS FOR JUNIOR INVESTIGATORS (SUPPORTS RESEARCH BY EARLY INVESTIGATORS) AND PHYSICIAN SCIENTIST AND ABSM JR FACULTY GRANTS (SUPPORTS THE GROWTH OF PHYSICIAN SCIENTISTS IN THE FIELD OF SLEEP AND CIRCADIAN RESEARCH). THE AASM FOUNDATION ALSO APPROVED A SLEEP CHAMPION AWARD (RECOGNIZES SUCCESSFUL COMMUNITY-BASED SLEEP HEALTH SERVICES AND EDUCATION PROVIDED BY NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS).
