COVID RECOVERY PROGRAM, AICHO PROVIDED A COMPREHENSIVE COVID RESPONSE PROGRAMMING INCLUDING COMMUNITY FOOD DISTRIBUTION; VACCINE AND TESTING CLINICS; CULTURALLY SPECIFIC COVID MESSAGING; WORKING WITH LOCAL AND STATE AGENCIES TO ENSURE SAFETY OF PROGRAM PARTICIPANTS; STAFF AND COMMUNITY MEMBERS.


GIMAAJII MINO BIMAADIZIMIN HOUSING PROVIDES 29 UNITS OF PERMANENT AND SUPPORTIVE HOUSING TO INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES WHO ARE HOMELESS AND LIVING IN POVERTY. LAST YEAR 33 ADULTS AND 43 CHILDREN WERE HOUSED AT GIMAAJII WHERE THEY RECEIVED CASE MANAGEMENT SERVICES, SUPPORT SERVICES, CHILDCARE, AND MEALS.


DABINOO'LGAN SHELTER IS A 10 BED, 24 HOUR CRISIS SHELTER FOR BATTERED WOMEN AND THEIR CHILDREN. LAST YEAR 139 WOMEN AND 63 CHILDREN WERE HOUSED AND PROVIDED WITH FOOD, CULTURAL ACTIVITIES, ADVOCACY, AND ASSISTANCE IN FINDING SAFE PERMANENT HOUSING.


ARTS & CULTURE PROGRAMMING THROUGH THE DR. ROBERT POWLESS CULTURAL CENTER, NIIWIN INDIGENOUS FOODS MARKET, AND INDIGENOUS FIRST ART & GIFT SHOP.
