THE PURPOSE OF LAKE AGASSIZ HABITAT FOR HUMANITY, INC. IS TO PROVIDE SIMPLE, DECENT, AFFORDABLE HOUSING TO THOSE IN NEED THROUGH THE CONSTRUCTION OF VARIOUS HOUSING UNITS. THESE UNITS ARE THEN SOLD AT NO PROFIT WITH A ZERO INTEREST MORTGAGE TO INDIVIDUALS WHO MEET SPECIFIC CRITERIA. THE NUMBER OF FAMILIES SERVED DURING THE FISCAL YEAR ENDING JUNE 30, 2021 INCLUDES 2 HOME CLOSINGS, SERVING 7 INDIVIDUALS (2 ADULTS AND 5 CHILDREN). IN ADDITION, OUR INTERNATIONAL TITHE SERVED 2.2 FAMILIES DURING THE YEAR.LAKE AGASSIZ HABITAT SELLS HOUSES TO SELECTED PARTNER FAMILIES UPON COMPLETION OF THE CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS. FOR FISCAL YEAR ENDED JUNE 30, 2021, THE MORTGAGE INCOME PROVIDED BY CURRENT MORTGAGE PAYMENTS TOTALED $319,003 ENABLING HABITAT TO FURTHER CONTINUE TO FULFILL IT'S MISSION. INCLUDED IN THIS NUMBER ARE THE PROCEEDS FROM THE SALE OF 1 HOME WHICH TOTALED $175,194. REGULAR MORTGAGE PAYMENTS MADE BY CURRENT PARTNER FAMILIES, TODAY, WILL PAY FOR FUTURE HOUSE BUILDS OVER THE COURSE OF THEIR MORTGAGE TERM, IN MOST CASES FOR 30 YEARS.
RESTORE SELLS NEW AND GENTLY USED BUILDING MATERIALS BELOW RETAIL PRICING. IN ADDITION TO PROVIDING A SOURCE OF INCOME TO AID IN THE CONSTRUCTION OF HOUSING, RESTORE HELPS KEEP USABLE BUILDING MATERIALS OUT OF LANDFILLS. FOR FISCAL YEAR ENDED JUNE 30, 2021, THE RESTORE PROGRAM PROVIDED LAKE AGASSIZ HABITAT FOR HUMANITY WITH ADDITIONAL REVENUE OF $587,182. WE ALSO DIVERTED 926.36 TONS FROM AREA LANDFILLS. THE ADDITIONAL REVENUE HELPED LAKE AGASSIZ HABITAT FOR HUMANITY BUILD MORE HOMES FOR LOW-INCOME FAMILIES WITHIN THE COMMUNITY.
