WE ARE A FAITH-BASED, CARING PLACE THAT LISTENS TO THOSE WHO ARE EXPERIENCING FOOD INSECURITY. WE WORK WITH OUR PARTNERS TO BE INCLUSIVE AND TO PROVIDE FRESH, NOURISHING FOODS FOR THOSE LIVING IN BELTRAMI COUNTY AND BEMIDJI SCHOOL DISTRICT.

BCFS OPERATED A REGIONAL FOOD SHELF SERVING ELIGIBLE HOUSEHOLDS IN BELTRAMI COUNTY AND THE BEMIDJI SCHOOL DISTRICT. 334 VOLUNTEERS DISTRIBUTED 548,563 POUNDS OF FOOD TO 6,189 HOUSEHOLDS. FORTY-EIGHT PERCENT OF THOSE SERVED WERE CHILDREN AND SENIORS. SIXTY-THREE PERCENT OF THOSE SERVED IDENTIFIED AS NATIVE AMERICAN. VETERANS MADE A TOTAL OF 900 VISITS. WE HAVE BEGUN A MOBILE FOOD SHELF TO TWO COMMUYNITIES IN BELTRAMI COUNTY THAT CONTAIN POPULATION UNABLE TO TRAVEL TO OUR MAIN OFFICES IN BEMIDJI. BCFS ALSO PARTNERED WITH SECOND HARVEST NORTH CENTRAL FOOD BANK TO DISTRIBUTE 1463 NUTRITION ASSISTANCE PROGRAM FOR SENIORS (NAPS) BOXES TO ELIGIBLE SENIORS.
THE BCFS FARM AT THE FOOD SHELF RAISED AND DISTRIBUTED OVER 15,000 POUNDS OF FRESH PRODUCE WITH THE HELP OF 600 VOLUNTEERS.
