COMMUNITY KITCHEN - PROVIDES MEAL TO LOW INCOME PEOPLE FIVE DAYS A WEEK THROUGHOUT THE YEAR.
THE DAMIANO CENTER BUILDING IS A COMMUNITY CENTER THAT PROVIDES SPACE FOR OUR PROGRAMS AS WELL AS TO OTHER ORGANIZATIONS AND GROUPS WHO PROVIDE SERVICES TO LOW INCOME PEOPLE. THE BUILDING IS OPEN 7 DAYS A WEEK THROUGHOUT THE YEAR.
CHILDREN'S PROGRAMMING - KIDS' KITCHEN - AN AFTER SCHOOL AND SUMMERTIME MEAL AND NUTRITION EDUCATION PROGRAM FOR NEIGHBORHOOD CHILDREN THAT PROVIDES A SAFE PLACE TO PLAY AND LEARN FOR OVER 650 NEIGHBORHOOD CHILDREN WHO ARE AT RISK OF HUNGER AND MALNUTRITION.
FREE STORE - PROVIDES CLOTHING AND HOUSEHOLD GOODS TO LOW INCOME PEOPLE AT NO COST. ITEMS ARE DONATED BY COMMUNITY MEMBERS. EACH YEAR OVER 270,000 ITEMS OF CLOTHING ARE DISTRIBUTED. COMMMUNITY SERVICES - EMERGENCY ASSSITANCE, INFORMATION AND REFERRAL PROGRAM THAT OFFERS A FREE PHONE, MAILBOXES FOR PEOPLE WHO ARE HOMELESS, HYGIENE ITEMS, HOUSEHOLD GOODS, COPUTER CLASSES, AND LIMITED ASSISTANCE WITH TRANSPORTATION. THE PROGRAM SERVES 2,500 PEOPLE ANNUALLY. CLOTHES THAT WORK - A FREE CLOTHING PROGRAM THAT HELPS CLOTHE PEOPLE LOOKING FOR WORK OR IN NEED OF PROFESSIONAL ATTIRE IN ORDER TO MAINTAIN WORK. OVER 650 PEOPLE US THIS PROGRAM EACH YEAR. HEALTH REALIZATION - A COGNITIVE SKILLS BASED PROGRAM THAT HELPS INDIVIDUALS MANAGE STRESS AND WORK THROUGH BARRIERS. IT IS OFTEN CONSIDERED AN ADDICTION RECOVERY PROGRAM BUT CAN ASSIST WITH A WIDE RANGE OF ISSUES.
