SOUTHEASTERN MINNESOTA YOUTH ORCHESTRA (SEMYO) REALIZES ITS MISSION THROUGH A RIGOROUS MUSIC EDUCATION PROGRAM THAT INCLUDES FIVE YOUTH ORCHESTRAS, SUMMER MUSIC CAMP, CHAMBER MUSIC PROGRAM, AND ANNUAL MIDDLE SCHOOL HONOR BAND EVENT. SEMYO CURRENTLY HAS A CORE MEMBERSHIP OF 265 STUDENTS IN GRADES 3-12 FROM THROUGHOUT SOUTHEASTERN MINNESOTA AND REACHES HUNDREDS OF ADDITIONAL YOUTH THROUGH ITS OUTREACH TOURS, MUSIC CAMPS, AND EVENTS. YOUTH ORCHESTRA MEMBERS REHEARSE ON SATURDAY MORNINGS THROUGHOUT THE SCHOOL YEAR WHILE LEARNING IN BOTH FULL ORCHESTRA AND SMALL GROUP SETTINGS AND SUCCESSFULLY PERFORM CONCERTS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR.
