SACA OPERATES A FOOD PANTRY AND PROVIDES RESOURCES TO THOSE IN NEED WHILE EMPOWERING DIGNITY AND INDEPENDENCE TO THOSE WE SERVE IN OUR COMMUNITY.

IN 2022, SOUTHERN ANOKA COMMUNITY ASSISTANCE (SACA) PROVIDED 861,006 POUNDS OF FOOD TO 17,688 FAMILIES AND HOUSEHOLDS. THERE WERE 49,269 INDIVIDUALS SERVED THROUGHOUT THE YEAR VIA THE FOOD SHELF, SENIOR DELIVERY SERVICE, THRIFT STORE, HOLIDAY MEAL PROGRAM OR THROUGH CHRISTMAS PRESENTS FOR CHILDREN. SACA RELIES HEAVILY ON NON-PAID STAFF INCLUDING THE ENGAGED BOARD OF DIRECTORS. THEY ARE SUPPORTED BY TRAINED VOLUNTEERS THAT PROVIDE FOOD PICKUP, INTAKE, SORTING, STOCKING AND ASSISTING WITH OPERATIONS.


SOUTHERN ANOKA COMMUNITY ASSISTANCE (THE ORGANIZATION) WAS ORGANIZED IN 1976 AND IS COMMITTED TO PROVIDING BASIC NEEDS SERVICES TO THOSE LIVING IN COLUMBIA HEIGHTS, MINNESOTA AND SURROUNDING COMMUNITIES. A THRIFT STORE SELLS DISCOUNTED NONFOOD CLOTHING AND HOUSEHOLD ITEMS. IN 2022, 861,006 POUNDS OF FOOD WERE PROVIDED TO 17,688 FAMILIES AND HOUSEHOLDS WHICH WAS 49,269 INDIVIDUALS SERVED.
