PINEWOOD CLOQUET, INC PROVIDED COMMUNITY AND CENTER-BASED PRE-EMPLOYMENT AND EMPLOYMENT TRAINING AND OVERSIGHT TO 55 CLIENTS OVER A PERIOD OF 220 PROGRAM DAYS.EMPLOYMENT PROGRAM SERVICES -- THE PROGRAMS DISCUSSED BELOW WILL BE AT THE DIRECTION OF THE CASE MANAGER AND THE INDIVIDUAL SERVED. PROGRAM DESIGN WILL BE BASED ON ASSESSMENT, PERFORMANCE DATA, AND BEHAVIOR DEMONSTRATED BY THE PERSON IN PREVIOUS PROGRAMS OR THE CURRENT PLACEMENT. COMMUNITY PLACEMENTS OF ALL KINDS REQUIRE THAT THE PERSON'S INDIVIDUAL INTERESTS, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES BE CONSIDERED WHEN MATCHING JOB OPENINGS AND PEOPLE. PLACEMENTS ARE MADE IN AS NORMALIZED A SETTING AS POSSIBLE WITH A PERSON'S SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND INTERESTS CONSIDERED AND THE SERVICE PROVIDER MUST ENSURE HEALTH, SAFETY, PERSONAL DIGNITY, AND POSITIVE GROWTH IN THAT SETTING TO THE EXTENT POSSIBLE.CENTER-BASED EMPLOYMENT -- IT IS THE GOAL OF PINEWOOD IN ALL CENTER-BASED EMPLOYMENT TO MAKE IT A REALISTIC REPLICATION OF BUSINESS AND/OR INDUSTRY. SELF-CARE AND SOCIAL SKILLS - PROVIDES TRAINING IN THE SKILLS NECESSARY TO MAINTAIN A HEALTHY BODY AND A GOOD APPEARANCE THROUGH GROOMING. APPROPRIATE GROOMING AND APPROPRIATE SOCIAL BEHAVIOR ARE BOTH NECESSARY PRE-VOCATIONAL SKILLS. PRE-VOCATIONAL - PRE-VOCATIONAL TRAINING PROVIDES PROGRAMMING IN LEISURE AND VOCATIONAL SKILLS TO THE MORE SEVERELY DISABLED. INDIVIDUALS HAVING SEVERE DISABILITIES USUALLY REQUIRE MORE INTENSE STAFF RATIOS TO ACHIEVE GOALS AND OBJECTIVES. MANY INDIVIDUALS SCHEDULED FOR PRE-VOCATIONAL TRAINING MAY ALSO NEED TRAINING, ASSISTANCE, OR MONITORING IN BASIC SKILLS ESSENTIAL TO DAILY LIVING. RECREATION/LEISURE - TRAINING IN PHYSICAL ACTIVITY, MUSIC, OR ART ARE APPROPRIATE LEISURE ACTIVITIES. ALL INDIVIDUALS ENROLLED AT PINEWOOD ARE OFFERED LEISURE/RECREATION ACTIVITIES EACH WEEK TO ACHIEVE GOALS AND OBJECTIVES DETERMINED BY THE THERAPIST WITH THE INTERDISCIPLINARY TEAM'S INPUT TO MEET THE UNIQUE PHYSICAL/EMOTIONAL NEEDS OF THE INDIVIDUAL.
