THE FAMILY RESOURCE CENTER IS THE HEART OF HEARTLOVE PLACE PROVIDING SUPPORT AND RESOURCES TO YOUTH, TEENS AND PARENTS. PROGRAMS OF THE FAMILY RESOURCE CENTER INCLUDE A TEEN CENTER AND AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAMS, PARENTING SUPPORT PROGRAMS, FAMILY EVENTS, REFERRAL SERVICES FOR HOUSING ISSUES, DOMESTIC VIOLENCE, AND EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE. DUE TO THE PANDEMIC, HEARTLOVE PLACE SHIFTED TO BEING MORE OF A RESOURCE TO FAMILIES. STARTING IN MAY, HEARTLOVE PLACE BEGAN OFFERING VIRTUAL PROGRAMS FOR YOUTH AND FAMILIES. HEARTLOVE PLACE DISTRIBUTED 350 BAGS OF FOOD ITEMS AND GROCERIES FOR FAMILIES IN NEED FROM MAY TO DECEMBER.
HEARTLOVE PLACE PROVIDED FOOD SERVICE TRAINING THROUGH THE PRO-START CULINARY & JOB READINESS PROGRAM TRAINING, TEEN EMPLOYMENT PROGRAM AND SERVSAFE MANAGER TRAINING PROGRAMS. TRAINING IS PROVIDED FOR ADULTS 18 YEARS OLD AND TEENS BETWEEN THE AGES OF 15-17. ALL TRAINING PROGRAMS UTILIZE THE CURRICULUM OF THE NATIONAL RESTAURANT ASSOCIATION AND SERVSAFE AND INCLUDE HANDS ON EXPERIENCES, JOB READINESS TRAINING AND EXAMS. HEARTLOVE PLACE ASSISTS WITH EMPLOYMENT PLACEMENT FOR THOSE THAT SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETE THE PROGRAM.
PRIOR TO THE ONSET OF THE PANDEMIC, HEARTLOVE PLACE PROVIDED CATERING TO MEET COMMUNITY NEEDS AND SCHOOL LUNCH TO COMMUNITY SCHOOLS.
