TO BE AN ACTIVE MEMBER OF THE MONROE COUNTY COMMUNITY TO SUPPORT AND ASSIST RESIDENTS THROUGH THEIR FINANCIAL AND LIFE CHALLENGES WITH RESPECTFUL AND EMPOWERING SERVICES. FAMILIES FIRST ACCOMPLISHES THIS THROUGH PROVIDING CASE MANAGEMENT SERVICES, HOUSING AND OTHER ASSISTANCE AND ACTS AS A REFERRAL POINT FOR OTHER SUPPORT SERVICES IN THE AREA.

SAFE AND STABLE HOUSING PROGRAMMING PROVIDES HOUSING STABILIZATION SERVICES TO HOUSEHOLDS FACING IMMINENT LOSS OF PRIMARY NIGHTTIME RESIDENTS. THESE HOUSEHOLDS ARE CLASSIFIED AS AT RISK OF HOMELESSNESS. PROGRAMMING INCORPORATES CASE MANAGEMENT, RESOURCE/ REFERRAL, HOUSING STABILITY PLANNING AND HABITABILITY INSPECTIONS AND TENNANT LANDLORD MEDIATION. DIRECT FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE IS PROVIDED TO CLIENTS IN AREAS OF RENTAL ASSISTANCE (FIRST MONTH'S RENT, RENTAL ARREARS TO REMEDY EVICTION AND SECURITY DEPOSIT)


CASE/ CARE MANAGEMENT PROGRAMMING PROVIDES BUDGET CONSULTATION, RESOURCE REFERRAL, BASIC NEEDS UTILITY, HOUSING STABILIZATION AND EMPLOYMENT SUPPORT TO RESIDENTS OF MONROE COUNTY. CLIENTS ARE PROVIDED SERVICES DELIVERED BY FAMILIES FIRST CASE MANAGERS INTENDED TO ADDRESS IMMEDIATE NEED CAUSING INSTABILITY IN ONE OR MORE BASIC AREAS. DIRECT FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE CAN BE PROVIDED TO HOUSEHOLDS WHO REQUIRE FINANCIAL SUPPORT TO STABILIZE AN EMERGENT NEED.


FAMILIES FIRST ALSO PROVIDES CRISIS FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FOR RENT, SECURITY DEPOSIT, CAR REPAIRS, ETC. ALONG WITH THE PROVISION OF ITEMS TO THOSE IN NEED, INCLUDING CLOTHING VOUCHERS, BLANKETS, INFANT SUPPLIES AND WINTER WEAR.
