WORK SERVICES PROVIDE TRAINING AND EMPLOYMENT FOR OVER 40 INDIVIDUALS IN 2021. TRAINING AND EMPLOYMENT IS PROVIDED BOTH AT SUNSHINE HOUSE, INC. AND IN THE LOCAL COMMUNITY. OUR TEAM PARTNERS WITH FUNDING SOURCES AND LOCAL EMPLOYERS TO IDENTIFY EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES THAT MEET THE COMMUNITIES DEMAND AND THE SKILL SETS OF OUR CLIENTELE. CLIENTS FOCUS ON THEIR EMPLOYMENT GOALS AND BUILD BOTH HARD AND SOFT SKILLS TO MEET THOSE GOALS. OVER $92,000 WAS PAID IN WAGES TO INDIVIDUALS WITH DISABILITIES IN 2021. WE ALSO PROVIDE WEEKLY TRAININGS TO PROMOTE COMMUNITY INDEPENDENCE, WHICH INCLUDES BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO LIFE SKILLS, MATH, HEALTH, NUTRITION, AND SITUATIONAL AWARENESS OF A NEW JOB OR SKILL. ACTIVITIES ARE PROVIDED TO ASSIST PEOPLE IN PARTICIPATING IN ALL OUR COMMUNITY HAS TO OFFER.
PERSONAL CARE AND ADULT DAY SERVICES WERE PROVIDED TO 60 INDIVIDUALS IN 2021. ENGAGING DAILY ACTIVITIES AND COMMUNITY INTERACTION ARE PROVIDED TO PROMOTE A FULFILLING AND CONNECTED EXPERIENCE. INSTRUCTION AND SUPPORT FOR ACTIVITIES OF DAILY LIVING IS PROVIDED. INDIVIDUALS ARE GIVEN THE CHOICE OF WHAT SUPPORTS THEY ARE INTERESTED IN OR WHAT THEY WOULD LIKE TO PARTICIPATE IN. IN ADDITION TO THE DAILY LIVING ASSISTANCE AND TRAINING, WE PROVIDE LEARNING ACTIVITIES, RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES, EXERCISE, MUSIC, ARTS AND CRAFTS AS WELL AS INTRODUCTION TO WORK OPPORTUNITIES. WE ALSO SERVED MANY INDIVIDUALS THROUGH OUR SUNFLOWER COTTAGE LIFE ENRICHMENT PROGRAM AND ADULT DAY CARE SERVIECS.
SUNSHINE HOUSE INC. PROVIDES 5 ROUTES FOR PICK UP IN THE MORNINGS AND DROP OFFS IN THE AFTERNOON. INDIVIDUALS ARE PROVIDED DOOR TO DOOR SERVICES. THE BUSES ARE EQUIPPED WITH LIFTS AND ALL NECESSARY SAFETY FEATURES. TRANSPORTATION IS INCLUDED TO ALL COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES AND ENGAGEMENTS. TRANSPORTATION TO OFF PREMISES WORK SITES IS ALSO PROVIDED FOR MOBILE WORK CREWS AND JOB PLACEMENTS.
SUNSHINE HOUSE OPERATES A FULL PRODUCTION, ASSEMBLY AND MANUFACTURING FACILITY. WE CURRENTLY WORK WITH MORE THAN 10 COMPANIES FROM THROUGHOUT DOOR COUNTY TO PROVIDE JOBS AND TRAINING. IN ADDITION WE PROVIDE MAIL, PRINTING AND SHREDDING SERVICES FOR MANY NON-PROFITS, BUSINESSES AND INDIVIDUALS.
