UNITED WAY'S MOST SIGNIFICANT ACTIVITIES INCLUDE VOLUNTEER ENGAGEMENT, ISSUE-FOCUSED FUNDRAISING AND GRANT MAKING AND ADVOCACY. UNITED WAY MANITOWOC COUNTY IS COMMITTED TO THREE SPECIFIC INITIATIVES AS WELL AS RUNNING THE VOLUNTEER CENTER: BASIC NEEDS, EARLY CHILDHOOD AND YOUTH DEVELOPMENT.

UNITED WAY DEVOTES RESOURCES, TIME AND ENERGY YEAR ROUND TO MEET BASIC NEEDS, SUPPORT EARLY CHILDHOOD AND CREATE PATHWAYS FOR YOUTH DEVELOPMENT, HELPING OUR COMMUNITY THRIVE NOW AND IN THE FUTURE. SOME OF OUR FREE PROGRAMS AND SERVICES INCLUDE 2-1-1, SINGLECARE, BORN LEARNING TRAILS AND MY FREE TAXES.
THE VOLUNTEER CENTER IS HOUSED AT UNITED WAY MANITOWOC COUNTY AND SERVES AS A CENTRAL HUB FOR VOLUNTEER ENGAGEMENT ACROSS THE COUNTY. INDIVIDUALS, GROUPS, AND BUSINESSES CAN USE THE VOLUNTEER CENTER TO CONNECT WITH MANY LOCAL NONPROFITS AND A WIDE VARIETY OF VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES THROUGHOUT THE YEAR.
UNITED WAY MANITOWOC COUNTY AND THEIR PARTNERS SUPPORT THREE COMMUNITY INITIATIVES THAT CANNOT BE ADDRESSED BY ONE ORGANIZATION ALONE. IMPACT AGENDAS, OR STRATEGIC PLANS, ARE DEVELOPED IN COLLABORATION WITH AREA BUSINESSES, NONPROFITS, CHURCHES, SCHOOLS AND INDIVIDUALS IN AN EFFORT TO COLLECTIVELY SUPPORT FOOD SECURITY, SAFE AND AFFORDABLE HOUSING, DISASTER RESPONSE AND RECOVERY, EARLY CHILDHOOD CARE AND EDUCATION AND YOUTH DEVELOPMENT.
