THE PURPOSE OF BIG GROTHERS BIG SISTERS IS TO ORGANIZE, UNDER PROFESSIONAL DIRECTION, MATURE, RESPONSIBLE AND CAREFULLY SCREENED INDIVIDUALS TO PROVIDE, ON A VOLUNTEER BASIS, A ONE-TO-ONE MENTORING RELATIONSHIP TO CHILDREN AND YOUTH WHO LACK STABLE RELATIONSHIPS WITH ADULTS. THE AGENCY, THROUGH ITS VOLUNTEERS AND STAFF, WILL PROVIDE COMPANIONSHIP, GUIDANCE AND A POSITIVE ROLE MODEL TO THESE CHILDREN TO HELP THEM REACH THEIR ACADEMIC, SOCIAL AND EMOTIONAL GOALS.
