FOUNDED IN 1893, THE YOUNG WOMEN'S CHRISTIAN ASSOCIATION SOUTHEAST WISCONSIN (D/B/A YWCA SOUTHEAST WISCONSIN) IS A SOCIAL SECTOR SERVICE ORGANIZATION PROPELLED BY WOMEN (AND THEIR SUPPORTERS) OF DIVERSE BACKGROUNDS, AGES AND EXPERIENCES WHO ARE DEDICATED TO THE ELIMINATION OF RACISM AND THE EMPOWERMENT OF WOMEN BY PROMOTING PEACE, JUSTICE, FREEDOM AND DIGNITY FOR ALL. NATIONWIDE, ALL YWCAS HAVE THREE PILLARS: ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT, RACIAL JUSTICE AND HEALTH & SAFETY. ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT IN 2021, ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT PROGRAMMING OF YWCA SOUTHEAST WISCONSIN WAS DESIGNED TO PROVIDE OPPORTUNITY FOR ACCESS FOR THOSE MOST IMPACTED BY RACISM AND SEXISM THROUGH A TWO-PRONGED APPROACH ADDRESSING DEVELOPMENT NEEDS OF 1) THOSE WHO LACK POWER/ACCESS AND 2) THOSE WHO HAVE IT AND NEED TO LEARN HOW TO JUSTLY USE IT. THE PROGRAMS OFFERED INCLUDE ADULT EDUCATION (HIGH SCHOOL EQUIVALENCY DIPLOMA/HSED, GED, PEARSON VUE CERTIFIED TESTING CENTER), PERSONAL FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT (1:1 FINANCIAL COACHING, GROUP WORKSHOPS, MATCHED SAVINGS PROGRAM (LINDSAY HEIGHTS NEIGHBORHOOD), REMAINING AUTO LOAN ACCESS PROGRAM LOAN MANAGEMENT (SUNSETTING PROGRAM), WOMEN-SPECIFIC PROGRAMMING (DRESS FOR SUCCESS AFFILIATE (RACINE)/ WOMEN'S PROFESSIONAL IMAGE BOUTIQUE (MILWAUKEE), WE PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM (RACINE-ONLY, CONTRACTED), EMERGING PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOP SERIES) WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT (CERTIFIED AFFILIATE AMERICAN JOB CENTER (MILWAUKEE-ONLY), EMPLOYER ENGAGEMENT).
RACIAL JUSTICE AND GENDER EQUITY PROGRAMING YWCA SOUTHEAST WISCONSIN RACIAL JUSTICE AND GENDER EQUITY PROGRAMMING HAS BEEN EXECUTED IN 2021 THROUGH CONVENINGS, EDUCATION/ LEARNING, COACHING, CONSULTING, AND ADVOCACY. THIS PROGRAMMING HAS BEEN FOCUSING ON ADDRESSING SOCIAL DETERMINANTS OF HEALTH WHILE DRIVING TOWARDS JUSTICE FOCUSED EMPLOYMENT AND EDUCATING THE GENERAL POPULATION ABOUT RACISM, GENDER EQUITY AND INTERSECTIONALITY. SESSIONS ARE FOCUSED ON ADDRESSING ACCESS AND OPPORTUNITIES FOR FAMILIES/ COMMUNITIES OF COLOR WHOSE LIVED EXPERIENCES IMPACT THEIR LIFE EXPECTANCY AND MORE, WHILE ALSO EDUCATING PEOPLE TO UNDERSTAND RACISM, GENDER EQUITY, LIVING WAGE, AND INTERSECTIONALITY.
MISSION INTELLIGENCE YWCA HAS BEEN A PIONEER IN MANY ASPECTS SPECIFICALLY IN THE FIELD OF TECHNOLOGY FROM RUNNING LARGE SCALE OPERATIONS TO CREATING A CLIENT TRACKING SAAS START UP. THE ORGANIZATION OPERATES REMOTELY WITH OFFICES IN TWO GEOGRAPHIC LOCATIONS OF SOUTHEAST WISCONSIN; MILWAUKEE AND RACINE. STILL GRAPPLING WITH THE IMPACT OF THE COVID 19 PANDEMIC, MOST OF 2021 HAVE BEEN A TIME OF AGILE THINKING, QUICK DECISIONS, AND GETTING ON BOARD AND RAPIDLY WHILE ADJUSTING TO THE CHALLENGES AND NEW WAYS. IN 2021 THE ORGANIZATION PREPARED TO ANALYZE, PLAN AND ADDRESS NEW REQUIREMENTS, PLAN AND IMPLEMENT FUNDAMENTAL CHANGES NECESSARY TO EVOLVE THE ROLE AND FUNCTIONALITY OF TECHNOLOGY IN THE CONTEXT OF MISSION INTELLIGENCE AND DEVELOP THE TECHNOLOGY TEAM AND SERVICES IN ALIGNMENT WITH A NEW VISION.
