PROFESSIONAL RECOGNITION - THE ORGANIZATION PRESENTS ANNUAL AWARDS HONORING FIRMS FOR THEIR DESIGNS AND INDIVIDUALS FOR THEIR CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE ARCHITECTURAL PROFESSION. FIRMS SUBMIT COMPLETED PROJECTS FOR CONSIDERATION, HONOREES ARE SELECTED BY COMMITTEE VOTE AND AWARDS ARE PRESENTED AT AN ANNUAL AWARD CEREMONY.


CONFERENCES AND SEMINARS - THE ORGANIZATION HOLDS ANNUAL SEMINARS AND CONFERENCES TO EDUCATE ITS MEMBERS AND OTHER INTERESTED PARTICIPANTS. THE CONFERENCES ADDRESS CURRENT BUILDING CODES, SUSTAINABLE ARCHITECTURE AND OTHER ISSUES INCLUDING: A BUILDING CODE AND REGULATION SEMINAR, THE BUILDING ENCLOSURE COUNCIL SEMINAR AND SEVERAL SMALLER EVENTS THROUGH THE YEAR. VARIOUS OTHER LECTURES, CLASSES AND DISPLAYS VARY FROM YEAR TO YEAR AND ARE ATTENDED PRIMARILY BY MEMBERS. TOPICS FOCUS ON DETROIT'S FIRMS, ARCHITECTS, PROJECTS AND PROBLEMS.


PUBLIC AWARENESS - THE ORGANIZATION PROVIDES TOURS AND LECTURES TO PRESENT THE CONTRIBUTIONS OF THE PROFESSION TO THE PUBLIC AT LARGE AND TO PROMOTE INTEREST IN LOCAL ARCHITECTURE.
