MEMBERSHIPS - SOCIETY OF PROFESSIONAL JOURNALISTS PROVIDES PROFESSIONAL MEMBERSHIPS RELATING TO JOURNALISM WHICH PROVIDES PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT, CAREER SUPPORT, JOURNALISM ADVOCACY, LOCAL CHAPTER CONNECTIONS, AND INDUSTRY NEWS AND INFORMATION.
ANNUAL CONVENTION - MEDIAFEST22 IS A UNIQUE AND INSPIRING JOURNALISM CONVENTION EXPERIENCE THAT BRINGS TOGETHER PROFESSIONAL JOURNALISTS, STUDENT JOURNALISTS AND COLLEGE MEDIA ADVISERS FROM EVERY AREA OF JOURNALISM FROM ACROSS THE COUNTRY TO OUR NATION'S CAPITAL. ATTENDEES WILL HEAR FROM RENOWNED SPEAKERS AND WILL BENEFIT FROM HANDS-ON WORKSHOPS, GENERAL SESSIONS, AND CONCURRENT BREAKOUT SESSIONS. THEY WILL ENJOY NETWORKING OPPORTUNITIES, SOAK UP EVERYTHING THE EXHIBIT HALL HAS TO OFFER, CELEBRATE DURING AWARDS PRESENTATIONS, BANQUETS AND RECEPTIONS, UNWIND DURING TOURS OF THE CITY AND HISTORICAL SITES, AND SO MUCH MORE!BY THE NUMBERS:457 INDIVIDUALS REGISTERED FOR THE EVENT.365 INDIVIDUALS ATTENDED THE EVENT.THE EXHIBITORS WERE VISITED 454 TIMES.THE UPLOADED RESOURCES WERE VISITED 5,759 TIMES.THERE WERE 598 EBUSINESS CARD EXCHANGES.22 INDIVIDUALS PARTICIPATED IN THE NBCU ACADEMY.THE DIGITAL & MOBILE APPS WORKSHOP BY MIKE REILLEY AND VICTOR HERNANDEZ HAD 78 ATTENDEES.
STUDENT LEADERSHIP INSTITUTE - SLI WAS CREATED TO PROVIDE PARTICIPANTS WITH A SOLID FOUNDATION ON SELF-AWARENESS AND THE SKILLS NECESSARY FOR LEADING AND CONTRIBUTING TO A TEAM. STUDENTS ARE ALSO ARMED WITH INFORMATION TO UNDERSTAND AND APPLY THE SPJ CODE OF ETHICS. SLI IS A CUSTOM DESIGNED, HANDS-ON LEADERSHIP EXPERIENCE DEVELOPED TO MAKE EVEN THE BEST STUDENT MEMBERS OF SPJ MORE CREDIBLE, ETHICAL, AND VALUES-BASED LEADERS. THE STUDENT LEADERSHIP INSTITUTE HAD 22 PARTICIPANTS DURING ITS EVENT IN JULY OF 2021.
