THE ORGANIZATION PROVIDES PROACTIVE LEADERSHIP TO THE MICHIGAN EDUCATIONAL COMMUNITY BY PARTICIPATING WITH OTHER ORGANIZATIONS IN BUILDING A VISION THAT SUPPORTS QUALITY TEACHING AND LEARNING AND PROVIDES EQUITY TO MICHIGAN'S PRE K - 12 STUDENTS.

THE ORGANIZATION CONDUCTS TWO PROJECTS ON AN ONGOING BASIS. ONE IS A COOPERATIVE PURCHASING PROGRAM FOR THE ADVANTAGE OF MICHIGAN PUBLIC SCHOOLS. THE ORGANIZATION MADE IT POSSIBLE FOR OVER 106,000,000 OF PURCHASES BY THESE SCHOOLS TO TAKE PLACE ON A PRICE ADVANTAGED BASIS. THE OTHER ONGOING PROGRAM SERVICE ACTIVITY IS THE CREATION OF REAL TIME AND ARCHIVED DIGITAL STREAMING VIDEO PROGRAMS FOR USE OF STUDENTS, TEACHERS, AND ADMINISTRATORS. SHORT TERM PROJECTS (NOT ONGOING) ARE UNDERTAKEN BASED ON AN ASSESSMENT OF THEIR PROSPECTS FOR FURTHERING THE ORGANIZATION'S MISSION.
THE ORGANIZATION CONDUCTS A MULTI-DAY PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT EVENT EACH SUMMER FOR ITS MEMBERS. THE EVENT FOCUSES ON EDUCATIONAL TRENDS AND TECHNOLOGIES. ORGANIZATION MEMBERS USE THIS TIME TO REVIEW PAST ACTIVITIES AND COLLABORATIVELY PLAN FUTURE ONES. ADDITIONALLY THE ORGANIZATION CONDUCTS PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS FOR A BROAD BASE OF PROFESSIONALS WITHIN THE STATE OF MICHIGAN EDUCATION SYSTEM. AS A FOLLOW UP TO THE PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM, THE ORGANIZATION PROVIDES ON-GOING ACCESS TO DIGITAL SERVICES. THROUGH LIVE, VIDEOCONFERENCING, AND WEB BASED COMMUNICATION PROGRAMS THE ORGANIZATION PROVIDED OVER 2,000 PERSON DAYS OF PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS DURING THE YEAR.
