FOR FISCAL YEAR 2021, GILDA'S CLUB GRAND RAPIDS SERVED APPROXIMATELY 12,500 PEOPLE. THE ORGANIZATION SERVES THE ENTIRE WEST MICHIGAN COMMUNITY TO LEND SOCIAL AND EMOTIONAL SUPPORT TO THOSE LIVING WITH CANCER, AND TO THEIR FAMILIES AND FRIENDS. OVER 400 VOLUNTEERS PUT IN APPROXIMATELY 2,150 HOURS TO HELP MEET THE GOALS OF THE ORGANIZATION. EARLY IN THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC, WE SHIFTED OUR TRADITIONAL IN-PERSON PROGRAMMING TO VIRTUAL, ENSURING OUR COMPREHENSIVE PROGRAM STILL MET MEMBER NEEDS EVEN DURING UNPRECEDENTED TIMES. FOLLOWING NEARLY 18 MONTHS OF VIRTUAL PROGRAMMING, GILDA'S CLUB GRAND RAPIDS BEGAN SAFELY WELCOMING MEMBERS BACK TO THE CLUBHOUSE IN JUNE 2021 THROUGH PROGRAMS HOSTED OUTSIDE AND FOLLOWED WITH A RE-OPENING OF THE CLUBHOUSE IN OCTOBER 2021. OUR MEMBERS ARE NOW ABLE TO PARTICIPATE IN WHATEVER PLATFORM IS BEST FOR THEM: VIRTUAL, IN-PERSON, OR HYBRID.
