THE BIG RAPIDS HOSPITAL FOUNDATION SUPPORTS SPECTRUM HEALTH BIG RAPIDS (SHBR) BY ADMINISTERING WITH FIDUCIARY CARE THE ASSETS OF THE FOUNDATION FOR THE LONG-TERM ENHANCEMENT OF SHBR, TO PROVIDE VOLUNTEER LEADERSHIP AND ASSISTANCE IN ITS RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES, AND TO PROVIDE BROAD ADVICE, CONSULTATION AND SUPPORT TO SHBR. THE FOUNDATION PROVIDES GRANT FUNDING FOR EQUIPMENT AND TRAINING PURPOSES. THE FOUNDATION RAISES FUNDS FOR CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS AT THE HOSPITAL. SUPPORT IS PROVIDED TO THE SUSAN P. WHEATLAKE WOMEN'S CANCER & WELLNESS FUND. THIS FUND ENABLES SHBR TO OPERATE A WELLNESS CENTER, LIBRARY, WIG BOUTIQUE, AND A GATHERING PLACE FOR INDIVIDUALS WITH CANCER AND THEIR FAMILIES.
