2022 MARKED THE NINTH ANNIVERSARY OF THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN SCHOOL NUTRITION ASSOCIATION OF MICHIGAN (SNAM) AND MICHIGAN SCHOOL BUSINESS OFFICIALS (MSBO). THIS YEAR SNAM PROVIDED 32 STATEWIDE TRAINING SEMINARS, OFFERING CONTINUING EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION OPPORTUNITIES TO OVER 396 SCHOOL FOOD SERVICE EMPLOYEES STATEWIDE. TOPICS INCLUDED MENU FORMULATION, DEALING WITH CONFLICT, AND CULINARY TECHNIQUES, TO NAME A FEW. SUCCESSFUL PARTICIPANTS RECEIVED A CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION AND VALUABLE TRAINING ON FOOD SERVICE ISSUES. THE PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE MEETS REGULARLY TO FINE TUNE THE CURRICULUM AND EVALUATE INSTRUCTOR COMPETENCY. SNAM ALSO CONTINUES TO PROVIDE A LEADERSHIP ACADEMY WITH OVER 100 MEMBERS HAVING PARTICIPATED. LAST FALL, SNAM HOSTED ITS ANNUAL CONFERENCE AND INDUSTRY EXPO AT THE RADISSON PLAZA HOTEL AND WINGS EVENT CENTER IN KALAMAZOO, MI. THE EVENT FEATURED ONE KEYNOTE SPEAKER OF NATIONAL ACCLAIM, AND NEARLY TWO DOZEN BREAKOUT SESSIONS ON ISSUES IMPORTANT TO SCHOOL FOOD SERVICES PROFESSIONALS. THERE WERE OVER 115 EXHIBIT BOOTHS REPRESENTING OVER 100 EXHIBITING COMPANIES AND BROKERS AND NEARLY 450 ATTENDEES FOR THE THREE-DAY EVENT.
