UNITED WAY OF JACKSON COUNTY (UWJC) IS DEDICATED TO CREATING A COMMUNITY RICH IN OPPORTUNITIES TO ELIMINATE POVERTY AND ALLOW ALL PEOPLE TO ACHIEVE FINANCIAL STABILITY AND SUCCESS. THIS EMPHASIS ON FINANCIAL STABILITY INCLUDES MEETING IMMEDIATE NEEDS.

UNITED WAY OF JACKSON COUNTY (UWJC) UNITES PEOPLE, RESOURCES AND EXPERTISE TO UNDERSTAND THE COMPLEXITIES OF POVERTY AND CREATE SOLUTIONS THAT DRIVE FINANCIAL STABILITY. SPECIFICALLY, UWJC FOCUSES ON PROGRAMS AND PARTNERSHIPS TARGETING POVERTY AND ECONOMIC INSTABILITY AFFECTING VULNERABLE INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES THROUGHOUT JACKSON COUNTY. OUR VISION IS TO CREATE A COMMUNITY RICH IN OPPORTUNITIES TO ELIMINATE POVERTY AND ALLOW ALL PEOPLE TO ACHIEVE FINANCIAL STABILITY AND SUCCESS. AS A MEASURE OF OUR PROGRESS, UWJC HAS SET A GOAL OF HELPING 5,000 JACKSON COUNTY RESIDENTS DEVELOP A PATHWAY TO FINANCIAL SUCCESS BY 2025.IN 2020, UWJC INVESTED $703,096 IN 27 PROGRAMS WITH 18 LOCAL PARTNERS FOCUSED ON BUILDING FINANCIAL STABILITY. THESE EFFORTS IMPACTED AN ESTIMATED 60,000 PEOPLE IN JACKSON COUNTY. AMONG THESE INVESTMENTS:JOBSTAR (SUPPORT, TALENT AND RETENTION), AN EMPLOYEE RESOURCE NETWORK THAT EMBEDS A SUCCESS COACH AT PARTICIPATING BUSINESSES.
