BLUE CROSS/BLUE SHIELD PROGRAM - THIS IS A PROGRAM IN WHICH THE CHAMBER HAS PARTNERED WITH BLUE CROSS/BLUE SHIELD OF MICHIGAN IN ORDER TO PROVIDE BC/BS INSURANCE PROGRAMS TO CHAMBER MEMBERS AND TO ENCOURAGE NON-MEMBERS TO JOIN TO HAVE ACCESS TO THESE INSURANCE PROGRAMS. BC/BS OF MICHIGAN PROVIDES PROGRAM FUNDS TO HELP PAY FOR STAFFING, SUPPORT CHAMBER PUBLICATIONS AND SPONSOR CHAMBER EVENTS. THEIR MARKETING FUNDS PAY FOR THE PUBLICATION OF MANY WEBSITE, NEWSLETTER AND ELECTRONIC MESSAGES OF HEALTH RELATED INFORMATION AS A WAY TO PROMOTE THE BC/BS PROGRAM.
AWARDS BANQUET - THE CHAMBER ALSO HOSTS AN ANNUAL AWARDS BANQUET TO ACKNOWLEDGE COMMUNITY LEADERS AND BUSINESSES WHO PROVIDE SIGNIFICANT CONTRIBUTIONS OF TIME AND EFFORT TO THE COMMUNITY AS WELL AS PROMOTING MT. PLEASANT AND ESTABLISHED CIVIC ACTIVITIES IN THE AREA.
BUSINESS AFTER HOURS, BUSINESS OVER BREAKFAST - THE CHAMBER PROVIDES ITS MEMBERS WITH SEVERAL FORUMS TO MEET AS A BUSINESS GROUP. MEMBERS CAN CHOOSE TO ATTEND NETWORKING EVENTS SUCH AS BUSINESS AFTER HOURS OR BUSINESS OVER BREAKFAST. MEMBER ATTENDANCE, DEPENDING ON THE FORUM AVERAGE, FROM 30 TO 130 MEMBERS PER MONTH.
SEMINARS AND LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE - THE CHAMBER PUTS ON 15 TO 20 BUSINESS SEMINARS EACH YEAR. DEPENDING ON THE TOPICS, ATTENDEES RANGE FROM 5 TO 75 PER EVENT. TOPICS INCLUDE MICHIGAN LEGISTLATION, PROGRAMS RELATING TO YOUNG PROFESSIONALS, FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT, LAWS AND REGULATIONS THAT AFFECT MEMBERS' BUSINESSES AND MORE. A LEADERSHIP TRAINING PROGRAM IS OFFERED ANNUALLY FOR MEMBERS. THE UNDERGRADUATE ROLLIE DENISON LEADERSHIP INSTITUTE IS OFFERED EVERY OTHER YEAR AND IS A NINE MONTH COURSE THAT MEETS MONTHLY AND PROVIDES LEADERSHIP EDUCATION AND TECHNIQUES FOR MT. PLEASANT LEADERS OF TOMORROW. DURING 2021 COVID-19 IMPACTED SEVERAL OF THE SEMINARS. THESE PROGRAMS ARE EXPECTED TO CONTINUE INTO THE FUTURE.
