THE GREEN MOUNTAIN CHAMBER MUSIC FESTIVAL HOSTED ITS ANNUAL INTENSIVE FOUR-WEEK PROGRAM OF SOLO AND CHAMBER MUSIC STUDY ON THE CAMPUS OF ST. MICHAELS'S COLLEGE IN COLCHESTER, VERMONT FOR 213 YOUNG STRING PLAYERS ON THE VERGE OF PROFESSIONAL CAREERS. STUDENTS CAME FROM THROUGHOUT THE U.S. THE FESTIVAL'S 40 DISTINGUISHED ARTIST FACULTY MEMBERS PERFORMED A SERIES OF EIGHT WELL-ATTENDED CONCERTS IN THE ELLEY-LONG MUSIC CENTER, WHILE THE OUTREACH PROGRAM CLASSICAL ENCOUNTERS PRESENTED THE FESTIVAL'S EMERGING ARTISTS IN FREE PERFORMANCES IN VENUES IN BURLINGTON AND THROUGHOUT THE AREA.
